Easter Chick Craft Made with A Mason Jar

I am always inspired by ideas I find on Pinterest, but I never seem to have time to make all the crafts I would like. This year when some friends suggested a Pinterest Remake group, I was all over it. Once a month I could find a craft, change it around to make it my own, and schedule it. It was just the push I needed! I had found this cute Easter Bunny upcycled from a baby food jar last year and never gotten around to making it. The pin I found led to no where, but thankfully the picture had a watermark and I was able to trace it back to Serendipity Refined and pinned it myself. I plan to make an Easter Bunny soon, but to make the project my own, I changed it to an Easter Chick craft.  This would be a great project to do with the kids!
DIY Spring Chick Jar

Here’s what you need to make it:

1 (pint sized)  wide mouthed mason jar with lid
2 wiggly eyes (size large)
2 feet cut from orange fun foam
1 beak cut from orange fun foam
2 wings cut from yellow fun foam
1 antennae cut from yellow fun foam
1 large yellow pompom
Cotton candy or other treats to fill the jar
glue

Fill the jar with candy, treats or whatever you want to surprise the kids with, and screw on the lid. Glue the yellow pompom to the top of the lid. Position the eyes and beak on the front of the pompom. Add the antennae to the top back of the pompom and glue  all the pieces into place.

Position the feet onto the front of the jar and glue into place. (Another option, which is really better, is to purchase the self sticking foam. It avoids the glue altogether for less of a mess.)  Glue the wings to the back of the jar. Voila! One incredibly cute Easter Chick.
