My son is heading back to college soon for his sophomore year. He’ll be five hours away so I won’t be on hand to buy him all the things he needs. He has his own bathroom this year and I wanted to make sure he had essentials to create a stylish, chic look. After all, just because he is in college doesn’t mean his room has to be barren. I decided to surprise him with a “bathroom gift basket,” filled with items I knew he would need.
Bathroom Gift Basket Ideas:
I stopped by Target to pick up items fun bathroom gift basket ideas. The first thing I purchased was Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls because no one wants to find himself without toilet paper! They have four times more sheets in the four in one mega roll, to provide long lasting comfort. It also means he can forget refilling the toilet paper roll for longer periods of time. Let’s face it, he is a guy and in college. He’s probably not going to remember things until he runs out!
I purchased a shallow basket to place all the goodies. I placed the Quilted Northern in the back of the basket and added the following items around it:
- 2 bath towels (which I rolled into circles)
- 2 hand towels
- A shower curtain
- A bath rug, which I rolled into a circle
- 6 wash clothes, rolled into circles
- Basic toiletries, including
- bath gel
- hand soap
- shave gel
- Also needed:
- Shallow Decorative Basket
- Quilted Northern Mega Rolls
I finished the basket by tying a thin ribbon around it to hold the items in place. This can be removed when he begins using the basket. Tip: If you want to perk up a shower curtain for low cost, cut the ribbon into strips and use the ribbon to hold the shower curtain instead of shower hooks. Cute and creative!
He’ll be able to have a the look of a refreshed bath for low cost. Remember, it’s the small updates with mega impact that give a bathroom personality. See what I did there? It’s punny! He can use the basket for stylish storage for his towels and wash clothes. Bonus: He will always know when he needs to do laundry.

This bathroom gift basket would be great for college kids. I only have one more child in college but he does not stay in a dorm, because the University he attends is just a short drive away from home. I think I’d keep this idea in mind and make one to give to a friend who will be moving house.

I’ve never really thought about making a bathroom gift basket for someone. Actually not a bad idea considering every room in the house needs to be decorated and this would be a great way for them to do it without spending too much money!
Make sure it’s a skinny length curtain for certain shower types… those old dorms can be tricky with long sheets and skinny showers.
This is such a thoughtful gift idea for college students! Another great thing to add to the basket is rolls or quarters…that way, they have money to do their laundry instead of letting everything get stinky! 🙂
What a great idea. I have a good friend whose daughter is going off to a new college, I can send her with one of these baskets and have her toiletries all ready to go!

Bathroom gift baskets are perfect for college kids. They can never have too much bath tissue, hand soap and shower gel. Thankfully, all my kids are done with college, but I remember missing them so much and fixing up baskets for them.
