I had never been jealous of our dog, Rio, until he was offered the chance to try out a Spaw day and #PetExpressions treatment at PetSmart. Even the kids were a small amount jealous of this. “Rio gets to go to the spaw?” they asked. When the day arrived we packed Rio into the car and drove him to our local PetSmart, which has a grooming service located conveniently at the front of the building. We arrived a few minutes early and the kids rushed over to look at the cats available for adoption while Rio sniffed at the nearby aisle of treats.
Rio, who was adopted from the local shelter, is a sweet natured dog, but he has some trust issues. The groomers were patient and sweet with Rio. I will admit his expression looked bewildered, something like, “Why am I here again?” When we returned to pick him up a little over an hour later, he had experienced the Top Dog Spaw treatment complete with paw massage! His Spaw included:
- Bath with Choice of premium shampoo
- Milk bath conditioner
- Very Berry Face Wash
- Nail grind
- GNC Pets® nose & pad cream & paw massage
- Scented cologne spritz
- Teeth brushing & breath freshener
- Bandana or bow
We also opted to try one of the new Pet Expressions. We weren’t sure how Rio would want to express his inner dog, so we opted with one of the stencils, a paw print in electric blue, placed on his hindquarter. This received a lot of amused expressions from other patrons who referred to his “tramp stamp.” While the stencil was cute, I noticed it didn’t last a long time because Rio began licking it off immediately. Rio left from his Spaw Day looking sharp and smelling good. I appreciated the personal touches he received, including a detailed list from his groomer describing how he reacted to each service. Let’s just say, while he was “pawtastic” in most areas, he did not appreciate having his nails ground.
Rio left for the day looking good and smelling even better. Do you have a spoiled and pampered pet in your life?
I have two fur babies. They are both spoiled with affection, if they aren’t getting it they will nuzzle their way under your hands LOL
I have 2 dogs of the large variety and don’t ever think to take them to a thing like this. They don’t get to go to Petsmart with me because they are so large. Ugh… Maybe I should pamper them at home a little more. I’m sure they’d love it.

It is so cute to take our pets to get the royal spa treatment. Just as it makes humans feel better to be spoiled, it is good to allow pets to be indulged.
I don’t have any fur babies, but I have made a few trips to Petsmart. It’s nice that they have Spaw Days for them.

We have a regularly scheduled grooming session at Petsmart and they are fantastic. For their price, a whole lot is done and my dog is always sooo nice and clean!
Rio is too cute!!! Our Taffy is a rescue, too, but she DESPISES anything having to do with being groomed. She loves PetsMart, though, and she would be sad and disappointed if I let her there for any kind of spaw day – she would never want to go back again LOL But it’s a great promotional idea for the store!

I took my dog to a Pet Smart back home to shop and decided to check out their grooming area because she is one that needs hair cuts regularly. While I was there asking questions, one of the groomers was screaming at a dog and getting frustrated with him. I was so upset I insisted on a manager immediately and also called corporate. I will never leave my dog anywhere to be groomed again after seeing that, if I can not wait and watch them get groomed, I will do it myself.

PetSmart has awesome products for pets, my sister loved going there for her cat’s needs.

This is such a cute idea. My dog would love to have a “Spaw” day even though I think he has the best life out of everyone in the house because he relaxes all day while we are at work and school.

We lost ours last year after 14 years of great companionship. We regularly go to PetSmart to see all the animals and finally got a bird from there a few month ago.
