4 Fast Beauty Hacks For The Holidays

The holidays are approaching and that means tons of parties, events, family gatherings, church outings and more. With all these activities happening, I want to look my best.  My problem is I am a low maintenance kind of lady.  Gone are the days when I would spend two hours in the morning curling & styling my hair and applying makeup. (Okay, okay, these days passed as soon as I had kids. I was lucky to get five minutes to spend.)  Over the years I have learned a few tips and tricks to look polished without spending hours on my appearance.    Today, I am sharing my four fast beauty hacks with you.Brittany

1. Condition, Condition, Condition. If you have dry and color treated hair, condition daily to prevent frizz and split ends.  Every day when I step into the shower I wash my hair and apply conditioner. I leave it in my hair while showering and rinse out the conditioner just before I step out of the shower. My hairdresser told me this was an essential step for dry, coarse, color treated hair to make sure it retains moisture.

2. Beat the Bags.  Sometimes I feel like I have bags the size of a small state under my eyes. We all know the advice “Get plenty of sleep,” but sometimes we just don’t have time.  An easy way to help reduce under eye puffiness is to dip two teabags in water and then keep them in a small plastic bag in the fridge. Place the cool tea bags on your eyes for twenty minutes.  I can’t promise the swelling will be completely gone, but it always helps reduce my bags!

3.  Exfoliate Chapped Lips.  Let’s face it, lipstick doesn’t look the best if it sticks in clumps to your lips.  You can have smooth lips in a flash by massaging petroleum jelly into your lips, then brushing lightly with a toothbrush.

4.   Change up your hair. This is such an incredibly easy tip, but can make a big impact. Just switch your natural part and you can achieve an entirely different look in minutes.  Sometimes when I am feeling brave I go for a middle part and poof up my hair. It creates an entirely different look and I don’t have to worry about getting a new hairstyle.
