This season I searched through the hottest toys to find the most fun toys of the season. These are gifts that I would give to my family or friends (or maybe even play with myself while saying they are for the kids.)
The Nerf Rebelle Heartbreaker Bow, $19.99
Growing up I loved the story of Robin Hood and couldn’t wait until I would be able to shoot a bow and arrow. It wasn’t until I was in college that I was able to take archery lessons and I was not very good. One day I was incensed when a fellow student told me, “Left handed people shouldn’t be allowed to take archery.” I vowed to practice until I was good at archery and allow my daughter to take lessons from a young age if she so desired. The Rebelle, designed for children eight years and older, is a good first bow. Stylishly designed, this bow contains five foam darts capable of a 75 foot range, along with a dart storage case. The Rebelle is designed to provide real bow action, while being lightweight using darts that won’t hurt if they happen to hit someone else in the foot.
FurReal Friends, Daisy Kitten, $49.95
As the “fur” mom of three cats, I fell in love with Daisy the moment I saw her. Designed to look and feel like a real cat, Daisy is interactive too. She meows and sounds so much like a real cat that I actually went to see which of my cats was making noise. Her fur is soft and silky and when her right paw is squeezed she will purr and make kitten noises. Touch her on the forehead or wave your hand in front of her to see her move her paws, meow or jump up. One note: Daisy is very sensitive to movement. Walking past her or moving an arm anywhere near her will cause her to meow. Daisy requires 4 AA batteries, which are included, but you might want to keep a spare set on hand if you are giving her as a Christmas present. Daisy is the next best thing to a real cat. She has the added advantage of not being able to jump into your lap and type “words” into your computer like a real cat does.
Motorola Talk About Two Way Radios, $29.99
Enjoy the great outdoors? These Two Way Radios from Motorola have a sixteen mile range in the mountains and up to three miles on a lake. They are perfect for fishing or hiking trips, with 22 channels and easy one button operation. While they have a much lower range in urban areas at around 3/4 of a mile, these radios are great for keeping tabs on the kids or sending a message to the husband while he is doing yard work. Each package includes two radios, two belt clips and a user guide. What it does not include is batteries. You’ll need to pick up six AAA batteries before use, three for each unit. I liked how small and lightweight these radios are, making them to easy to use by young children. The low battery alert is also useful, letting us know when the batteries need to be replaced and the keypad lock helps keep little (or big!) hands from accidentally changing the operation of the radio.

My kids love walkie talkies. One year, all the kids in the family got them for Christmas, and the ones who lived close enough in proximity could talk to one another. They had so much fun with them, it lasted for months.
I do have to say the bow is awesome but my six year old would reek vengeance on me!
These are awesome gifts, my daughter wants that kitty.
Oh I saw that Nerf Rebelle when I was looking for Nerf’s boy-themed bow and arrow yesterday! I totally got the boy one for my kiddo and I think he will love it! This one is awesome, so Hunger Games-y 🙂

I always like 2-way radios. They were fun when I was a kid, and now they’re fun too, with my own kids. 🙂
Now these look like fun. I am almost tempted to get the Nerf Rebelle for myself!
I lived right next to a school and when the kids were in middle school, I would let them go over there together and play on the playground but they always took the Motorola talkabouts with them so we were in touch. Half the time they’d just spend talking to me because they thought it was fun. lol

My boys would love the Two Way Radios from Motorola! They love playing outdoors and this would be perfect for their adventures!
Great toys. My “baby” is too old for these toys, that makes me sad. I love to pet those little fur babies!
My daughter love Fureal. They’re so cute.
Those Fur Real Friends seriously put fur everywhere! I wonder if that is why they call them that.
Nerf toys have always been a hit with my son.
The 2-way radios are great! Kids would have a blast with those.

Great toy gift guide. Love the selection. We have already picked up a couple of the FurReal babies to put under the tree.
My toy boys would be in heaven with the walkie talkies. They are finally at an age where both could benefit from them rather than just my oldest.
Great selection of toys and pics to represent them. I know where to look if needing that extra toy under the tree.

Great gift ideas for Christmas, love these toys! Oh the walkie-talkies are cool!
Walkie Talkies are the coolest gifts and not just for kids. Last year I attended a convention that had 15,000 people there. So glad we brought along our walkie talkies! 🙂
