Spring is finally in the air in the South. The daffodils that didn’t get smushed when we began our patio remodel are blooming and the birds are chirping. It’s time to think of spring entertaining! I’m all for having cutesy centerpieces for my table, but honestly, I like them to come together quickly and not cost a lot of money. This centerpiece was easy to make and took around ten minutes to make. Plus it gave me an excuse to have something to do with my smushed daffodils. Here’s what you need to make it:
One clear vase (these are easy to find at yard sales, thrift stores or the dollar store)
Daffodils in varying heights (I used twelve)
one piece of ratafia (about 6 to 8 inches in length
Easter Grass in the color of your choice
Begin by bunching the daffodils together. Try to make sure some flowers are facing in each of the four directions. Tie the daffodils together with the piece of ratafia. Do this about an inch and a half under the blooms. Place one handful of Easter grass into the vase. Add daffodils to the center of the vase. Place another handful of Easter grass in the vase, making sure the daffodils stay in the center and Easter grass hides the stems. Fill with water. Voila! You’re done. Enjoy the compliments.
