Best Buy is always one of my top shopping destinations during the holidays. It seems like everyone on my gift list wants something from Best Buy. From video games and consoles to wireless speakers and cameras, Best Buy has something for everyone. Not to mention, they have unbeatable prices and great service. That’s why this year, all the top gifts on my family’s wishlists are from Best Buy- and they should be on yours, too!
My son’s been begging for an Xbox One. What is an Xbox One, you ask, and why should I replace my Xbox 360?
Well, Xbox One was built by gamers, for gamers. It’s got games everyone wants: from exclusive titles like Halo to blockbusters like Call of Duty. It’s got sports franchises like Madden and FIFA, and even top family titles! But it doesn’t stop there. Xbox One lets you watch your latest TV shows and your favorite movies through the apps you know and love. Xbox One means media at your fingertips when you want it, how you want it.
That’s right- this is a console your whole family can enjoy. From Skylanders for when I’m watching my nephew, to Just Dance 15 so I can dance off all those extra Christmas cookies I’ll be eating, to TV and movies through apps even my husband can understand, it’s easy to see why Xbox One is topping our holiday shopping list this year! The Xbox One not your speed? Check out what’s on my own wishlist. I can’t decide between the JBL Charge 2 and the JBL Flip 2. Both would be perfect for streaming my music while entertaining on my patio! I have to admit, I am slightly leaning towards the Flip 2, if only because the kids couldn’t take turns sharing their playlists on it. This speaker will be exclusively for lost 80s hits!
The JBL Charge 2 allows three different users to take turns playing their personal playlists on a single speaker. It’s got deep bass and a hands-free conference speaker phone. The Flip 2, on the other hand, has SoundClear technology to prevent echo and a state of the art microphone system so you can pick up calls on the speaker, no worries. Once I pick which speaker I’m buying, I’m also planning on picking up some of these JBL Reflect Earbud headphones! Sweat-proof and no loose cables, these are perfect for my jogs around the block. Very slow jogs. Okay, I admit it. I’m powerwalking.
For my daughter, a portable GPS is just the thing to keep her able to visit me. Seriously, this kid could get lost in a cardboard box! To keep that from happening, a Tom Tom or Garmin will make the perfect gift this Christmas. Garmin and TomTom feature bluetooth connection for hands-free calling, weather, and traffic updates. They have lane assist, and lifetime traffic and map updates. The Garmin 52LM has a 5 inch display that clearly displays speed limit and arrival time. If you’re not keen on looking away from the road, it also has spoken turn-by-turn directions. The Garmin 2597LMT also has a 5 inch display, spoken turn by turn directions, and displays the speed limit and your arrival time. No more guessing how much longer you have to be on the road!
If you’re a Tom Tom fan instead, check out the Tom Tom Go 50s. It’s got lifetime TomTom Traffic and lifetime maps, so you’re always sure you’ve got the latest travel information. No more finding out a street no longer exists when you’re halfway through a turn! Another plus? 3D maps! If you’re one of those people who like to go by landmarks, the Tom Tom has you covered. It shows you buildings and landmarks in clear 3D on the 5 inch touchscreen!
As you can see, any of these GPS systems would be a great way to make sure your college-aged (or older!) kid can actually get home for the holidays. As a mom, I love that they tell you the speed limit- better safe than sorry, right? Having a Garmin or Tom Tom in the car is almost as good as being in the car, able to give your child (or stubborn husband) directions yourself!
So what’s on your holiday gift list this year?
I am going to head to Best Buy this weekend to see what they have.
If all else fails, buy it yourself, right? 🙂 No need to hint.
Best buy is always top on the shopping destinations. All these are great ideas for holiday gift! JBL Charge-2 sounds great and it has great features as well. This would really help me. Will have to check this out for me.
I could really use that Tom Tom instead of using my iPhone for directions!
These are such great suggestions!! I have been helping my mothe in law shop for my father in law and I think I will recommend the speaker.
I recommend a Tom Tom for anyone. It’s definitely a great gift idea!
I’m finally done with shopping but these are nice. I would like to get the xbox.
I think I might try a bluetooth speaker. That’d be better than the dinky clock/charger I have for my ipod now.
I want the xbox one to keep the hubby and step kids quiet for a while lol is that selfish? lol I don’t drive but my hubby does and could use a new GPS he’s always traveling to new places as he’s a vendor area sales rep. I could so see the speakers being a huge hit around here I have three teenage step kids and my 7 year old daughter and they are always listening to music but I’m not so sure if they would share it well maybe it would be perfect for hubby and I.
I want it all! I am not hinting anymore!
My SIL could use a new gps and my oldest wants an xbox one so I’m for sure going to Best Buy! Such great selection!
Our son would be so happy if we gave him that Xbox for the holidays! Will have to go to Best Buy and check it out.
A great place to do your Christmas shopping or any shopping during the year. I would love to have a pair of those speakers.
The Xbox one is awesome. Hope we get one when the prices goes down!
My sons keep asking for the XBox One. If I get a great deal for it at Best Buy, I might get it for them.
Hopefully someone was listening to my hint because I pretty much asked for just about everything you pictures! lol If I get one I would be SO impressed!
I am heading to Best But this weekend to check out some of the gaming systems. XBOX One may be one we look at getting.
My daughter just moved to our city so she could def use a GPS so she does not get lost in the is big ol’ city of ours. I can’t live without mine.
The xbox one looks cool. We have the 360 and will use that for a while before uprading.
I’m loving the 3D map on that GPS. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Oh, I need that TomTom, please and thank you!
It’s definitely time for a new TomTom mine is ancient. I would love to have those speakers also!
We could use a second GPS in our family. My husband and I travel so much for work and we’re fighting over the GPS. This is a fun list of gift ideas!
My Garmin is so old & he’s always giving me the wrong directions. I need a new one!
