This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®, Litter Genie® and Fancy Feast®, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #Catparents http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV”
To say our cats are spoiled might be an understatement, especially if you ask my kids. We have three of our own, plus two fosters, and all of them except one are rescues. These are cats who had a bad start in life, so I feel a little pampering is warranted. Recently Sassie, our oldest cat at twelve years old, refused to eat. She’s not the most social cat and it took me a few days to notice her wobbling around the house. I rushed her to the vet to be told, “She is anorexic.” I sat there with a dumbfounded expression for a few minutes before replying, “Seriously? How does this even happen?” It turns out she was having problems with her teeth, among other things, and we needed to make a serious change in her diet. This sounded easy, but not with Sassie. This is one picky cat! She refuses to eat almost everything.
I was getting more and more desperate to find her something when I decided to try Fancy Feast. I opened up the can and was able to persuade her she should eat at least one bite. It was a start! Our other cats didn’t need any persuading and devoured it as soon as she left. Given a chance, they would have happily crowded her out of the way and eaten it before she gets her few bites in each day.
Because I have a “herd” of cats, I’m always looking for ways to control litter box smells. I like having cats, but that doesn’t mean I want to smell them! While I was picking up Fancy Feast at Target, I noticed a Litter Genie. Yep, like the one for diapers, but for cats. Reading over the instructions, it promised to seal in odors, even when the lid is lifted, for fourteen days (for one cat.) Surely, I could get at least three odor free days (since I have more than one cat.)
The directions were so simple I had no problem putting it together. Here’s how it works:
Place the litter holder onto the grooves in the side. Pull about one foot of plastic from the refill pack and tie a knot in the bottom. Place the refill container into the top of the Litter Genie and close the lid. Bam! It’s ready to go.
It’s small and compact enough to slide in beside the litter boxes. I’m enjoying not having to run litter outside to the trash every day, especially in the freezing cold! We’re left with happy cats and a happy Mom!
How do you keep your pets healthy and happy?
Your cats are precious! The Litter Genie looks like a great product. Anything that will make a pet owner’s life easier is worth the cost!
We just recently adopted an outdoor kitty and she loves fancy feast.
This litter genie is perfect for cat owners. It probably makes their life much easier.
I love your little kitty images – and I would love to have a couple of cats – yet I think our dogs would love it even more! This is a great idea for kitty litter! I remember that my hubby took care of it, because I didn’t want to deal!
I have two cats and they can be stinky lol. I will have to give the Litter Genie a try.
I don’t have cats but I know people who do! I will be sharing this with my friends!
That Litter Genie looks likes something that I could definitely use. I will have to show this to my husband as he is cat person in this home.
I’m not surprised that you can find the good deals on the Fancy Feast at Target. That store is my go-to for good prices!! And if you have a cat, I think they totally deserve to be spoiled: Bring on the Fancy Feast! 🙂
I don’t have any pets, but I’ll be happy to share this with some of my pet parent friends!
Looks like some great products for pet owners. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve had cats my whole life and that litter genie would be amazing and helpful to have! I love my girl, and she loves fancy feast too I get it for her when I can!
My son is deathly allergic to cats. And we only found out recently. They are cute creatures though
Wow, never knew a cat or any animal could be anorexic. Love Litter Genie!
I love my cats, i have three. The litter jeannie seems like a good idea to control the litter.. I might actually try it.
My cats are big fans of that fancy feast food, they devour it in seconds!
I give lots of hugs to my pets lol. My neighbors use Feast Cat brand. They love it
What some gorgeous cats – I love the idea of the litter system I’ll have to show that to my Mum see if it would work for her and her cat 🙂 x
those cats are adorable! Between Fancy Feast and the litter genie I declare you and amazing cat parent! thanks for the finds
We have always been dog people but your cats are adorable and I’m glad everyone is now happy! I never knew an animal could be anorexic.
That’s a really cool litter disposal system. I know my daughter would love to have one.
I am going to be picking one of these up this week. Looks like it works well!
I don’t have any pets at all. I think these pet food companies post pictures of food that humans would want to eat. LOL The packaging needs to appeal to us first I guess. Fancy feast sounds like its quite a fancy mean in a can!
Well this is a genius idea! Pretty similar to the diaper one but this is one I could see myself using this if I had inside cats.
I must admit I’m not a cat person at all and I am also allergic to them. I don’t really know much about cat products. These looks like good items though.
Wow, I had no idea cats could be anorexic. Makes sense though if she had problems with her teeth. I’m so glad you were able to find a food she likes. I personally feed my cats Wellness. They love it.
Have you tried maybe feeding her in a different room so the other cats don’t get her food before she does? She might be able to eat a bit more.
Litter genie is AMAZING! I don’t know how I lived without it!
We have 4 cats! One of our kitties (the oldest one, 14) only has 1 tooth left and lives on fancy feast! Of course the other cats get jealous so we have to give them some too lol!
My inlaws are cat parents and they always feed the cats Fancy Feast.
