It may be 91 degrees outside, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate fall at the rock. Stone Mountain Park’s annual Pumpkin Festival is back and it’s bigger and better than ever. Guests can prepare to “Play by Day,” and “Glow by Night,” at this outdoor extravaganza. Check out our Stone Mountain Park Pumpkin Festival guide to help make the most of your visit.
Thanks to Stone Mountain for hosting us. All opinions are our own.
Stone Mountain Park Pumpkin Festival
This year’s pumpkin theme is based on classic Mother Goose fairy tales. All of your favorites are here; Humpty Dumpty, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Arabian Nights, and more. Keep an eye out for fairy tale characters! We spotted Little Bo Peep looking for her sheep. You’ll find a variety of activities available throughout the day, along with special evening activities. The park opens at 10 AM and closes at 9:00 PM so plan to spend the day.
Day & Evening Activities
These activities are scheduled during the day and in the evening. Check the 2019 Show Schedule for times.
Fairy Tale Remix with Mother Goose– Come listen to Mother Goose read a special story. Afterward, stick around and have a picture made with her.

Princess and the Pie Eating Contest– How much pumpkin pie can you eat? Here’s a chance to find out!
Jack and Jill’s Dance-a-long Party Parade– Dance your way through the crossroads with Jack and Jill!

The Three Little Pigs Runaway Train—This 5-mile train ride around the mountain showcases a film entitled “Little Red Riding Hood- Storm Chaser.” She leads participants on a merry journey to find what-or who- is causing the storm surrounding Stone Mountain. There’s a brief stop during the ride to visit with the 3 Little Pigs and help them escape the wolf. The ride begins at 7:00 PM. After exiting the train, stop by the Glowing Miniature Golf course, located behind the train depot, for a quick game.
The Enchanted Forest– When dusk begins to fall, the enchanted forest comes to life. Stroll through the trees dripping with lights and enjoy the fairy-tale scenes illuminated with light.
Lightning Bug Flashlight Tours– Grab a flashlight and take a tour through the Megabugs.
The Enchanted Glow-A-Long Parade– End the evening with the Glow-A-Long Parade. Join your favorite fairy tale characters and parade through the Crossroads waving lights. Bring a glowstick or purchase one onsite before the parade.
Of course, guests can still experience their favorite activities; the Summit Skyride, the 4-D theater (presently showing the Wizard of Oz), the Geyser Tower, the Dinotorium, and the Camp Highland Outpost.
