Isn’t it funny how a whiff of a fragrance brings memories rushing back? For me, it’s the tang of fresh oranges or the aroma of fresh pine. Each year, on Christmas Eve, I would accompany my uncle to the woods behind my Grandmother’s house to choose a Christmas tree. He invariably chose the smallest tree, probably because it was the easiest to cut. We’d drag it back to the house where my Grandmother had set out her delicate antique ornaments. I was charged with decorating the tree and spent hours making sure everything was perfectly placed.
Determined to have my children experience the same memories, we began an annual pilgrimage to a nearby Christmas Tree Farm each December. We’d grab a saw from the owner, tromp through the fields, and find the tree everyone agreed was perfect. The kids would take turns sawing it until it finally crashed to the ground. We’d load it onto the truck, drag it back to the house, and discover-once again- the tree we had purchased was too tall.
We attempted to “fix” the tree with varying results. Usually I could persuade my husband to chop off some of the trunk. When this didn’t work, he would try to trim off some of the top, resulting in a deformed look. Sometimes, when he became frustrated with the results, he tried to bend the top, leaving a semi-lopsided tree. Once he even tried to tie the tree to a hook on the ceiling until I complained that it looked dumb. Afterwards, when the tree was finally finished, we would grab a cup of cocoa and settle in to watch a Hallmark Movie, where we were always assured a happy ending.

I have a soft sport for Hallmark movies. There is just something about the spirit they bring.
My favorite Christmas movie is A Cookie Cutter Christmas 🎄
I absolutely love Hallmark Christmas movies! One of my faves is The Nine Lives of Christmas! I’m so excited for the holiday season especially with everyone going on in 2020!!!
I love The Nine Lives of Christmas and am actually watching it now.
My favorite movie would have to be the Santa clause with Tim Allen. I am really excited this year. Hallmark movies always just make me forget about life for a while. I watched the preview special and told my 9 year old if she didn’t want to watch, go find something else for a little. But to my surprise she watched and was excited too. Happy mom here !
I am so glad that you are both excited!

We just have a fake one to save some trouble, but I love the smell of real trees! I’m just too lazy to go about it.
Here in Philippines,we just buy Christmas lanterns or artificial Christmas trees. But if we do grow pine trees here. I bet it would be fun to have the real one.
It really seems exciting to have a real tree for a Christmas tree,in my country,we used to buy the artificial ones.
I love Christmas and this is so cool to have this movie premiere! I love the Hallmark channel and truly miss having regular TV because I no longer have this channel.
