See the Sites and Save: CityPASS Atlanta

We received complementary tickets from CityPASS for review purposes. All opinions are our own.

I visited Houston this summer and found seeing the highlights of the city was easier when I used a CityPASS. The pass allowed me to see five attractions at a significant savings. When I realized that I could use a CityPASS in Atlanta, practically my own backyard, I decided this would be great to spend time with the kids while only having to make day trips. Using the pass saved 42% of the total combined purchase price to fun, family friendly activities, but it had other advantages as well.

  • The CityPASS allowed us to bypass long ticket lines with expedited line service. I think the longest we had to wait was five minutes.
  • The passes can be purchased online or at any participating attraction. Personally, I would recommend online because then you wouldn’t have to stand in line anywhere.
  • The CityPASS is good for nine days after the first use, making it easy to schedule and plan the visits. Because several of the attractions are within walking distance of each other, it’s possible to plan to visit these attractions on the same day, saving time and parking fees.
  • CityPASS includes extra perks for several of the attractions and all taxes.

Coca Cola Museum

Here are the Sites we were able to see using our pass:

World Of CocaCola—This is a walk through time of the history of Coca-Cola, with general admission to all exhibits and the 4D theater. At the end of the tour be sure to pick up the complementary bottle of Coca-Cola. It’s the real thing!

CNN
Inside CNN Studio Tour—provides a detailed look at the behind the scenes world of broadcast journalism. If you are like me, you will not have realized how much effort goes into producing a show. And, you might be lucky enough to watch the taping of a live show!

Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium—We were able to view all the exhibits, the AT&T Dolphin Tales show, Deepo’s 3D Wondershow, and admission to special exhibition.

Zoo Atlanta

Zoo Atlanta— We were able to view 1000 animals, over 200 different species, and also received all rides wristbands, allowing us to participate in rock climbing and ride the train and carousel.
Although we chose the Zoo, history buffs could have chosen the Atlanta History Center and Margaret Mitchell Home. I would have loved to see this one; the exhibits included the Atlanta History Museum, Smith Family Farm, Swan House, gardens & trails, and the Centennial Olympic Games Museum.

Fernbank
Fernbank Museum

Fernbank Museum of Natural History—An interactive museum that is fun for all ages. Adults will enjoy the walk through time in Georgia and younger children will like Nature Quest, a hands on section for kids to explore. We were also able to take in an Imax film that was covered by our pass and special exhibits.
Art Lovers could choose to visit the High Museum of Art instead.
CityPass is available for eleven cities around the US and Canada. As my money saving husband stated, “CityPass is the way to go if you want to see the highlights.” I will be providing detailed reviews of each of the five exhibits to help give you a taste of Atlanta.
