Welcome to Simply Southern Mom! We’re so glad you’re here! Here’s the lowdown on us:
I’m Pam, a small town Georgia blogger, who lives between Chattanooga, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia. I relish life near the “big city.” I’m an imperfect of mom to a family that includes a daughter, her husband and baby , and a son. I am passionate about rescuing abused and abandoned animals and our menagerie keeps expanding, much to my husband’s chagrin. We have a small flock of sheep, a donkey, three rabbits and five (gasp!) cats. They are all very spoiled.
In my past life I was an elementary school & special ed teacher. In my spare time I like to read, cook, travel, work on DIY projects and find ways to live the good life on a budget. I’ve been known to drag my kids to tons of educational sites while on vacation, many of which they have actually enjoyed.
I am constantly attempting to develop new dessert recipes and adapt recipes so my gluten free/lactose intolerent daughter can eat them. There are lots of successes, but quite a few flops as well! I encourage my kids to join me in my cooking and am always thrilled when one of them offers to cook dinner. My guilty pleasure is Historical Romance novels.
I am a huge travel buff, honed when my husband worked out of town for weeks at a time. I would grab the kids and accompany him. I still love to travel and enjoy press events, fam trips and traveling with companies whenever the opportunity arises. Oh, and traveling with my family too, of course.
I’m Brittany, a twenty-something living near Chattanooga, TN, with my husband and our menagerie of pets. I am a first time parent to an adorable little girl who was born this spring. Despite living with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Celiac Disease, and Myasthenia Gravis, I love to travel. I’m always up for a good road trip, and my favorite part of travel is getting to try local (gluten free) dishes that I’ve never had before. When I’m not blogging for Simply Southern Mom or on my personal blog, A Southern Celiac, you can find me curled up in my hammock with a good book and a cup of tea.
And of course, we can’t let you leave without a cute snapshot of the baby!
