Banana Split SoyMilk Smoothie Recipe

Who doesn’t love the creamy goodness of a banana split? To me, they are a reminder of my childhood and family reunions. We’d end our dinner with homemade ice cream with plenty of toppings. My bowl always became a banana split by the time I was done with my creation.  This recipe is a twist on a classic. Made with soy milk and lowfat vanilla yogurt, it’s healthier but still combines the basic ingredients into a rich and creamy shake.  Even my son, who is not a banana split fan, told me, “This is pretty good for a banana split, Mom.”

We were  given the opportunity to try WestSoy Organic Unsweetened Soy Milk,  Honey Nutz Honey Roasted All Natural Soybeans and Soy Joy Snack Bars.  The Soy Milk is a good addition to recipes in place of the needed milk although because it is unsweetened I have had to add a little more sweetener in recipes calling for sugar.  The Honey Nutz Honey Roasted Soybeans are small, bite sized morsels with a satisfying crunch.  The Soy Joy bars were too dry for my taste, but my father, who is a diabetic, enjoyed them and asked me to get him some more.

    • It is yummy, Alicia! I really like cherries so if you don’t, just adjust the amount so it has less of a cherry taste. Or you can substitute strawberries.
