Nothing says Halloween to me like a black cat. This craft makes a great addition to any Halloween party or as a decoration. Plus, you can eat the candy after Halloween. I found the directions in an All You Magazine and was impressed with how simple it was to make.
You’ll need these materials:
Black acrylic paint
ribbon
black and orange cardstock
adhesive wiggly eyes
craft glue
mini pumpkins
white paint pen
floral wire
Paint the mini pumpkin black. Let dry and attach wiggly eyes to the front.
Cut three triangles from the orange cardstock and two larger triangles from the black cardstock. Glue an orange triangle onto each black triangle. Glue these to the top of the pumpkin for ears. Glue the other orange triangle between the eyes for a nose.
Using the white paint pen, draw a mouth directly below the nose. Cut 6 pieces of floral wire two inches in length. Insert 3 strands of wire on each side of the nose for whiskers. (See finished example at the top. ) Fill one 16 ounce jar with candy. I used Reeses’ Pieces for fall colors. Tie a piece of ribbon around the top of the jar. Make a smaller bow from the ribbon and wrap around the stem. Place finished cat atop the jar.
Voila! A bewitching black cat!
