I’ve been working on improving my food photos. Not only is it a challenge to work with the camera, I knew I needed some cute background props, like tablecloths, napkins, and dishcloths. Whenever I stopped by a thrift store, if I found something cute, I would pick it up and bring it home. I designated the closet in our office as my “blog closet.” Unfortunately, I have a lot of things stored in my blog closet besides my props. There’s keepsakes the kids outgrew I can’t bear to part with, craft supplies and some Christmas presents I have stored to give this year. I had everything stored in boxes, but when I needed something I had to move boxes to find anything. I’m sure you are wondering, “Why didn’t she just keep the background props in the kitchen?” It’s because I wanted to keep them separate from our regular kitchen items to prevent stains. We’re quick to grab towels and dishcloths to wipe up spills. When I was offered a chance to be a part of the Brylane Home Storage event, it was an answer to my prayers.
I received the 4-Drawer Storage Wardrobe to help me organize. No longer do I have to worry about a box falling on my foot (or my head!) when I am trying to shift things around. The wardrobe did need to be assembled but the instructions assured me it would take only fifteen minutes. Usually I try to pawn these projects off on Bryan, but this one looked simple enough for me to do myself! I had it mostly assembled when he came through, but did have him bring a screwdriver to tighten a couple of screws that were resisting going in properly.
Once the wardrobe was assembled I had a little trouble putting the drawers in place. Not because it was difficult to install them, but because our cats thought the drawers were comfy resting spots for a nap. After displacing the cats, I placed all my items in the roomy bins. This drawer system could easily be placed in the closet, although I’ve left it out for now. It not only holds all my props, but the top could have extra bins stacked on it. I want to do this soon, but right now it is being used a napping spot for the cats.

I discovered Brylane Home through a giveaway on a blog and am in love with so many things from their catalog. I just received a package yesterday with a mattress pad and set of amazingly soft and beautiful blue sheets for my bed (one of my dogs decided to unstuff the mattress pad I had on my bed). I also bought a protective pet cover for one of my sofas, which came in a week or two ago and which I put on the couch for the first time this weekend. I could fill my home with things from their catalogs, but I especially love a couple of their solar fountains and a few other of their outdoor items.
