Starkville, Mississippi lives up to its name. It’s a college town, home to Mississippi State University, set in the midst of miles and miles of farmland. One of the surprising things about the town is the number of small, family owned restaurants with tasty eats. On my last trip, to help pack up my son and move him home from the summer, I browsed through the available options on Restaurant.Com and found Bully’s Burgers & Wings.
Named for the MSU mascot, Bully the Bulldog, Bully’s Burgers and Wings is located about one mile from the main entrance to the college in a small collection of office buildings. When we arrived, midafternoon, the restaurant wasn’t crowded, with a few tables of college students, discussing finals, and office workers. Our order was taken by a perky and attentive college student, who not only delivered the food to our table, but came back over several times to ask if we needed anything.
Their specialty is Wings and Burgers, including the Bulldog Burger, a 1 1/2 pound burger, and wings in ten flavors. I decided to go with something different and order the Grilled Chicken platter, which included a side and a drink. I chose fries. My son decided to try the Buffalo Chicken platter, which included a side of fries and a drink.
Both the grilled chicken and the buffalo chicken were tender, the fries were crisp and the meal was served quickly. Bully’s Burgers and Wings seems to cater to students with reasonable prices and a variety of specials. There are burger and wing lunch specials, Wednesday wing specials, and all side orders, including their Caesar Salad, come with a free drink. The next time I’m in Starkville in the fall, I plan to return to try one of their eleven milkshakes I saw others ordering, but was too full to sample.
Bully’s Burger’s and Wings also offers delivery and call ahead ordering.
This looks like a must try restaurant!

Yum. Look at all that food. Looks so delicious. I have never heard of Bully’s Burgers before. I love all the different resultants and places like this in the US. You guys have so many, its really awesome to see. This place looks great!
College towns have the best restaurants! We always enjoyed visiting my daughter when she was in college because of all the good food available there. Bully’s seems like a great place for a good burger! Love that they are named after the mascot.
