In our B.C. life (before cats), I imagined them to be aloof creatures, standoffish, and never deeming humans of being worthy of their presence. I was completely, utterly wrong. We have three cats, plus a foster cat, and all of them have their own unique “purrsonalities.”
Our present kitty adventures began twelve years ago with Sassie. We found an ad in the paper for free tuxedo kittens and went to check her out. She was the only female in the litter. “We’d like this one,” we said, only to be met with skeptical looks. “You don’t want her,” the owners exclaimed, “she’s weird.” Looking around at these people, who were the essence of everything people imagine when they think crazy cat lady, we decided they had exaggerated. We were wrong. Sassie, an absolutely beautiful cat, bit anyone who tried to pet her. Whenever we left the house she would go into my daughter’s bedroom and drag her pajamas through the house, leaving them in the middle of the family room floor. Over the years she has mellowed and usually ignores us, thinking we are basically good for supplying food, water and treats.
Mitzie, our three year old, was adopted from the local animal shelter as a kitten. She’s the opposite of Sassie in that she loves her family. If we sit down she’s always ready to warm our laps, waiting patiently beside the chair until we say, “Ok, come on up here.” The downside is she’s a scaredy cat. Someone other than a family member walking into the house? Time to hide. Another cat in the family looks at her? Time to hiss and then hide. Cat toy drops on the floor? Time to jump three feet into the air, yowling with all her might, and hide. Once when we were on vacation my brother in law came over each day to feed our cats. She ran off, meowing loudly, the first day. He didn’t see her again the entire time we were gone.
Okie, the baby at almost two, was found as a kitten on the side of a busy road. He loves everyone and is always ready for petting. He doesn’t like to be held and will tattle on anyone who picks him up by meowing loudly. He also comes running through the house whenever I call him and thinks his name is “Mama’s precious angel baby,” a moniker which might put me at crazy cat lady status too.
One thing they all agree on is food. They’ve been sampling the Rachael Ray Nutrish Natural Food for Cats, available in dry and six wet flavors. Aww cuties! No cats here! So wish I did have pet hair allergies or I would be all over these babies.
I don’t have any pets right now, but if I did I would definitely make quality food a top priority.
I don’t have any pet at the moment, but I used to have a cat called Charlie when I was a teenager. He was so lovely, and he wasn’t like a cat, more like a little baby

I don’t have a kitty but I grew up with them. I’m more of a dog fan now.. However.. Your babies are beautiful! I think its so funny how they are all so different! Cats crack me up.
I need to get some of this for my cats. No by products is important and all natural. Its hard to find a good cat food that is natural.
I’m sure my mom’s cats would love Nutrish! They are really picky eaters and this looks like something they’d enjoy!

It is important to pick the right food for our pets. Food and the ingredients in the food make all the difference in the world in terms of health and mood.

I have 3 cats and they are all so very different. They do however eat the same food. I need to give Nutrish a try for we haven’t tried it before.
It’s so great that pet food companies are catering to the nutritional needs of cats and dogs. It’s important that they follow a proper diet too.

What cute cats! When I live in NYC I had two cats to help deal with a mouse infestation and I have to say they were as different as night and day. Each with their own personalities and preferences when it came to everything from food to where they wanted to sit in the window. – Katy

I have 2 tuxedo cats too! One was adopted from Grandma when she died and is a long haired cat with huge paws. He is a huge cat and walks like a racoon. I have another cat that I got at the Humane society that is a short hair black and white cat. His markings form hearts on him. They are very different animals in character for sure!!
Our outside cat of 12 years has decided that she is now a inside cat. She is really starting to warm up to all of us and we are anxiously awaiting her personality as an indoor cat develop.
We;ve tried her dog food. I had no idea they she made cat food too!

We once tried the Nutrish with our dog, and she loved it. I have no cats so have not tried the cat variety.

They’re beauties, for sure! My daughter has wanted a cat forever and a day, but dad says nuh uh to pets (he’s a mailman with a lot of not so great pet stories under his belt of experience). 😉 We keep hoping he’ll relent. A cat or puppy would be fun!
I really liked hearing about their different personalities, Pam. 🙂 I’ve never had cats, but I did have 3 dogs and each and every one of them was so different. We had one that was responsible and took care of the other dogs, the second one didn’t quite understand that she was a huge dog and we couldn’t carry her (she loved being loved and spoiled), and then we had another one that just enjoyed being alone and running around. 🙂
What cute babies you have. My Daughter has only one, but she is such a sweetheart… when she wants to be. I will tell my Daughter about Nutrish Natural Food for Cats since she is older and needs to be on a good diet.
My furbaby loves to try new food (not always with finish it) but she is super curious.I haven’t seen this brand available in any of the store I usually shop, but I’ll keep it in mind
