I have discovered teenagers and their friends can put away massive amounts of food. This was the premise that first attracted me to warehouse stores; getting a lot of food for a lower price, but I did not realize how much they have to offer. Last week I was invited to attend the BJ’s Holiday Preview Event and I was impressed with all the great offerings to make my holiday shopping easier. I was also attracted by the lure of low cost milk. At only $2.69 a gallon I could meet the family demands of several gallons a week.
We were taken on a tour of the new Christmas selection. I am used to purchasing items in bulk and didn’t think about how many of the items could be purchased in single units for smaller families. I could imagine using several of their new collection of serving ware at my holiday parties. I even learned a new trick for all those deviled egg platters that we have–use them to serve individual appetizers. I also learned, if you are like me, and hate braving the Black Friday crowds, they are beginning their sales early on November 24th, letting me beat the rush. Did I mention that BJ’s accepts manufacturer’s coupons and also sends out exclusive coupons to members, allowing you to stack both coupons on one product? That is my favorite way to coupon and can lead to some major savings.
What impressed me the most about BJ’s was the family friendly atmosphere and sense of pride among their employees. The PR rep I spoke to was actually meeting a reporter from the Wall Street Journal later that day to explain how their CEO wanted to be home with her family on Thanksgiving and felt her employees should receive the same treatment. All BJ’s stores are closed on Thanksgiving!

I’ve never been in one. I need to look and see if there’s one around here because that holiday bin of wrapping paper and Christmas tree section is totally appealing to me!
We have a Bj’s and a membership but I honestly do not go there that often. While I like buying items in bulk at times, I find that I do not want an abundance of certain items.
I love BJ’s. We used to shop there regularly when we lived in Tampa, FL. I always loved to shop there during the holidays, always found the coolest gifts. They need to build one in Augusta, GA.
We don’t have a BJ’s in our area, but I do love warehouse style shopping. That bear is huge!
We just moved to an area with a BJs. I have not been yet, but after this review, I will have to go and check it out.
They just built one within 25 minutes of me and we are moving next week. I haven’t even been yet 🙁 and there is not one any where near where we are moving too. I’m sad.

I was honestly just going to throw it away because I had never heard much about the store, but it seems like they have some great offers for the holidays, based on your post. I may have to test it out!!
I miss BJ’s! There’s none here in the West where we lived. I had a BJ’s membership since my now 13yr old was born. Saved me a ton on pampers but gave up our membership when we moved here 2yrs ago. Thought there was one here and ended up joining Sams Club and Costco. Such a disappointment. I cancelled this year.
I just went to their website and checked and they are not in my state but I can’t wait until they are. . .that is one nice store.

Those Christmas trees look beautiful. We have a BJ’s locally but I never knew that it had so much in stock. Looks like I am going to definitely check it out so I could hopefully save some money.
I wish they were closer for us, we would love to be members but the drive is so far. I do go when they have the 60 day memberships if I am down that way.
I wish there was a BJs near us as I would shop there and support them for being closed for Thanksgiving. I truly think we all need to stand up and stay home so these stores will stay closed so the employees can stay with their family. I can tell by the photos that I’d love this store.
Unfortunately for me the closest BJ’s is an hour away from where I live. I have been there (some friends live real close!) They do have some great prices and deals. I am glad to hear that they are not opening on Thanksgiving (after the dinner hour) like some of the other stores are.

My husband and I just signed up for one of BJ’s competitors. Maybe we should have looked into BJs before signing… Possibly next year we’ll rethink this!
I have heard of BJ’s but There is not a store near our home. We might see if there would be one near my daughters home since we visit there a lot.
I have yet to go into a BJ’s and I have one about 30 minutes away. I really need to make a commitment to get on over there. That bear is AWESOME!

They’re in Florida where we used to live and very popular. I love seeing CHristmas displays, it’s never too early for me. 🙂

We have a membership to BJ’s and shop there regularly, but this year for the first time, I did end up doing some of my Christmas shopping there. I couldn’t beat the prices.
