Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Truffles Recipe

I had a major chocolate craving going on and needed something to overcome it.  Since my dishwasher is (still) not working,  I wanted something that was quick, easy and didn’t require a lot of dishes for me to wash by hand. These fudge  truffles take only five ingredients, before you add the coating, and ten minutes of prep time. Not only will it satisfy those chocolate cravings, it’s perfect for those days when you need to take a delicious dessert to work,  a potluck or a party.

Here’s what you will need to make it:
Ingredients for fudge

In a medium sauce pan, mix the sweetened condensed milk (do not use evaporated milk, it is not the same), salt, butter, and peanut butter filled chocolate chips together over high heat.  Stir until the chips and butter are melted.  If you don’t want to purchase the peanut butter filled chocolate chips, just use regular milk chocolate chips and 1/2 to 3/4  cup of peanut butter, depending on how much peanut butter flavor you want it to have.  Allow the mixture to come to a boil. Immediately remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
fudge mixture

Pour the mixture into a 9″ by 9″ baking dish.  If you want to save yourself some cleanup time, line the dish with waxed paper.  It allows you to pull the fudge right out when it is chilled without the big chocolate mess.  Now comes the hard part, waiting for it to chill before you eat it! It has to be placed in the freezer  for one to two hours or until firm.    Another hint:  If you make it when the kids are not around, you can lick the spoon yourself before washing the dishes.
vanilla added

Once the fudge is firmish, remove it from the pan and roll into balls. The mixture will be sticky!  Have the topping you want to use ready! This can be rolled in sprinkles,  dipped in white or milk chocolate, whatever floats your boat.
