Hashbrown Casserole Recipe

In the South, the casserole is a staple at dinners with the extended family, potlucks, church dinners, and for casual entertaining. This Hash Brown Casserole is my Mother in Law’s version. It’s frequently requested by her sons and her grandchildren and often makes an appearance at family meals.

Ingredients
1 bag (26 -30 ounces) of shredded hash browns
2 cups of shredded  colby cheese
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 cup of  chopped onions
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:
Preheat oven to 425°F. Melt butter or margarine and mix in milk, broth, salt, pepper, and onion. Heat hash browns in a skillet and fold in shredded cheese until melted.  Combine hash brown mixture with the butter mixture and pour into a greased baking dish.  Bake for 40-45 minutes or until done.
