Easy Oreo Truffles Recipe

Let’s face it–we all want our food to taste good. However, that doesn’t mean we have hours to spend in the kitchen to achieve that goal. I’ve developed a new feature for 2012–Almost June Kitchen Fixin’s. We still have great tasting food in a fraction of the time, with only a few ingredients, and we can claim credit for being good cooks. What’s not to like? It’s win-win all the way around!

I got this Oreo Truffle Recipe from one of my husband’s coworkers who had to share this recipe with me and give me a sample so I would be “forced” into making a batch for my family. It’s amazing and takes three ingredients. They disappear quickly too. I sat out a plate of these on Christmas Day and came home with none.

Ingredients:
One 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1 package of Oreos, crushed (I use double stuff)
1 package (8 ounces) of white chocolate chips or 8 ounces of white chocolate candy bark
(I used white chocolate chips because they were cheaper)

Mix the crushed oreos and cream cheese together. I had to use a mixer to get them well blended. When well blended, roll the oreo/cream cheese mixture into balls. Freeze until firm. (It took about 20 minutes for me.)

When the candy is firm, remove from freezer. Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir. If not all melted, microwave for approximately 30 more seconds. Roll the candy balls in the white chocolate mixture. Freeze again until chocolate is firm. (It took about 10 minutes for me).

I don’t have a picture of the finished truffles but they look good and taste even better.

  1. Oh wow, these look awesome! I love that they’re only three ingredients. That seems to be my threshold for the number of different items I can handle in any given recipe.
