I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers Network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company.”
The sickness hit gradually. Slowly, over a few weeks, I lost my appetite. The pain and cramps in my stomach and back increased. The sight and smell of food made me nauseas. Then, the fever and other symptoms would appear. I would spend a few weeks fighting back to “normal.” A few months later, the cycle would repeat itself. Finally, with a diagnosis in hand, I had options, including medication, a change in diet and the suggestion I begin to take probiotics. When I was offered a chance to try Daily Body Restore Probiotics to test, I jumped at the chance.
If you are wondering, “What Are Probiotics?” According to WebMD, probiotics are “live bacteria and yeasts that are good for your health, especially your digestive system.” Probiotics are found naturally in some foods, like live cultured yogurt, kefir and my favorite, dark chocolate. Unfortunately for me, my new diet cut out all three of these foods. Go figure. Maybe that’s why they wanted me to add probiotics.
I spoke to Kim Shafer, the founder of Daily Body Restore, and she shared a brief story of her family’s health problems. She wanted to give daughter probiotics, but couldn’t find a combination she liked, so she developed her own. Daily Body Restore is different than traditional products on the market because it combines a blend of nine probiotic strains and 10 digestive enzymes. I also liked the fact that the company was constantly researching Daily Body Restore with qualified physicians.
And, if you have food allergies, like our family, Daily Body Restore has
*no artificial colors or flavors
I’ve also found they are easy to swallow, but anyone with difficulty swallowing can easily break open the capsules and mix it with a small amount of applesauce.
Because it’s not refrigerated, it’s easy to store while traveling.
After talking to Kim, we developed a plan to begin with taking 2 probiotics a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. If I didn’t feel any different after 3 days, we’d have another consult about adjusting the dose. The first thing I noticed about the probiotics was they did not have to be stored in the refrigerator. This makes it so much easier to take them with me when I am traveling. Do you know how hard it is to find somewhere to keep probiotics refrigerated when you’re always on the go? Not too easy!
So, we’re down to the real question, “Has it helped?” 2017 began with a bang. Not only did I catch a virus, that in our area was so severe it shut down the local schools and even caused one wing of the local hospital to be shut down for disinfecting, I broke my ankle. This was followed by the great digestive upset incident. I was ready for Daily Body Restore!
I combined DBR with my new diet. On the 3rd day I did notice a tiny difference. I had severe back cramping and I noticed the pain had diminished quite a bit. I was still sick and could tell I had problems, but having less pain was awesome. By day 6, I noticed the pain in my stomach was lessening as well. I could actually look at food and had a small appetite. I did have bloating, which is listed as a possible side effect of Daily Body Restore for the first few days, but I’m not sure whether it was an actual side effect or if it was from my stomach problems. Another thing I noticed- before my diet change I drank a lot of diet soda. I won’t say how much, but let’s just say the doctor complained and cut me back to one can a day. I relied on the caffeine to keep me going throughout the day. Once I cut back, I expected to be tired All. The. Time. It was a few days before I realized, “Hey! I’m not tired and I don’t have brain fogginess. Go me!”
