There is nothing better on a cold winter’s evening than enjoying a steaming mug of hot cocoa. Give me a good book, a cozy blanket and my cup of hot chocolate and I’d say it was the perfect way to end the day. For years we relied on those packages of hot chocolate mix because I thought it was quicker and easier to make. Boy, was I wrong! This Easy Hot Chocolate Recipe is so good, you’ll never go back to the packages. With only three ingredients and less than ten minutes, you can wow your friends and family. It’s also naturally gluten free so the Celiac members of the family can join in the celebration. Remember my motto. If you can impress them with your cooking, maybe they will clean up the kitchen.
The Best Easy Hot Chocolate Recipe:
For fun I like to add cute snowman toppers. This just makes it seem special. I purchased mine in the Christmas baking clearance section.
Ingredients:
You’ll need
Milk
Heavy Cream
Chocolate Chips (I like sweet cocoa, so I use milk chocolate. If you prefer a less sweet version, use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips.) If you want to go a completely different direction, use white chocolate chips for a white chocolate version.
Directions:
Step 1. Mix the Milk and Cream together in a medium saucepan.
Step 2: Stir in chocolate chips.
Step 3: On medium heat, bring milk mixture to a light boil, stirring constantly. Make sure chocolate chips are melted!
Step 4: Pour into glasses. Can be served with whipped cream, marshmallows, sprinkles, or shaved chocolate.
Printable Recipe:
- 2 cups Milk (whole milk is best, but you can use 2%)
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 6 ounces Chocolate Chips (I like sweet cocoa, so I use milk chocolate. If you prefer a less sweet version, use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips.) If you want to go a completely different direction, use white chocolate chips for a white chocolate version.
- Step 1. Mix the Milk and Cream together in a medium saucepan.
- Step 2: Stir in chocolate chips.
- Step 3: On medium heat, bring milk mixture to a light boil, stirring constantly. Make sure chocolate chips are melted!
- Step 4: Pour into glasses. Can be served with whipped cream, marshmallows, sprinkles, or shaved chocolate.
