I am participating in a campaign for Mom Select and HP MyPrintly, but all opinions are my own.
“You don’t have to get me anything for Father’s Day,” Bryan informs me every single year when I ask him what he would like. He is hard to buy for because he doesn’t want a lot of “stuff.” I’m always okay with taking him out to eat as a Father’s Day treat because this indirectly benefits me too, since I don’t have to clean the kitchen or cook. The kids, on the other hand, want to give him a present. I’ve found the DIY mason jar presents are always fun. We can customize them with special treats and they let the recipient know we’ve put some thought into this. This year as I browsed through the printables on the HP MyPrintly website, I decided to make a candy jar for both my father-in-law and Bryan. I came up with a cool rhyme to print and paste on the jar, but because Bryan is allergic to chocolate, I’ll have to make him a different one (or offer to eat the chocolate. See? I am a giver.)
I started by grabbing a one quart mason jar I had on the shelf and layering it with candies. To match my printable I added a bottom layer of M&Ms, then topped it with a layer of kisses. (If you want to make your own giant kiss, see my DIY recipe here.)
On top of the gummies, I added a layer of gummy bears and topped it all with a layer of Reese’s Pieces.
I attached the this printable to the outside of the jar using a glue stick. You could also just tie it on with a ribbon if you prefer, but if you use a washable glue stick, the label will come right off after washing. I’m sure my father-in-law will be pleased with his jar and so will Bryan when I replace part of the candies with Sweet Tarts. (If you would like to use the printable, just right click and print it for yourself.)
