It is time for a shocking confession. Brace yourself, because this is one you will never believe if you’ve read my pet posts. I was not a cat person. I grew up around dogs and considered cats kind of snooty and aloof. Like the old saying goes, Dogs have owners and cats have staff. What changed my mind about cats? I began dating a guy who liked cats. Shortly before we got married he found a stray kitten, promptly named Miss Butterscotch, and brought her home. We started our marriage with our first cat. Since then we’ve expanded our menagerie so much that when I called Bryan and told him to hurry home because we had a surprise for him, he asked suspiciously, “Did you get another cat?”
Thankfully, men who like cats are finally getting the recognition they deserve. Purina Pro Plan is hosting a #MenandCats contest. Now through September 14, 2015, you can nominate your favorite cat loving man. The rules are simple, just upload a picture of them with their favorite feline to Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #MenAndCatsContest and tagging @ProPlanCat. Winners will be featured in the 2016 Men and Cats Calendar, plus receive a one year supply of Purina Pro Plan Savor Shredded Blend dry cat food.
So, what’s so great about the new Savor Shredded Blend dry cat food? The first ingredient is chicken or fish and all formulas provide Omega 3 acids for a healthy skin and coat. My cats are huge fans of chicken (as they are always trying to beg for chicken when I am eating dinner) so I give them a dish of this instead. My husband likes cats. Well one of our kittens and him have a special little bond. It’s really sweet.
My husband loves cats but we haven’t had one in years! We had to give one up when we moved to an apartment that didn’t allow them!
I know quite a few guys that love cats! I think its the cutest thing it makes them more affectionate to me!

My adult son is a cat lover. We have rescued 2 cats from the humane society.
My second oldest son’s girlfriend has a cat. My son takes selfies with it all of the time, and he even takes the cat for car rides (the cat sits on his shoulders). It’s hilarious. 🙂
My husband has had 19 cats over the course of his life. He’d definitely be a good fit for this contest!

This contest looks so super cute! My dad definitely loves animals, including cats, and I really think they grow to have a special bond with him too.
I think a lot of people have the initial thoughts about cats that you did. It is when they get to know one that they change their mind!
Hubby is really more into dogs. He has had an occasional cat around tho. Sounds like a great food.
I loved cats way before my husband did. He had to marry me AND my cats! Now he loves them.

If I wasn’t married I would probably be the crazy cat lady. I am thankful my husband loves cats but he has his limits.
