In only a few weeks it will be Halloween. We all know what that means…Halloween parties. If you are having to make Halloween snack bags for the kids or for a Halloween party, I have a solution. It’s this Easy Halloween Popcorn Party Mix Recipe. The beauty of this recipe is that it can be made so many different ways depending on whether anyone has food allergies. I’ve included a couple of different variations as well as some add-ins. A fun way to serve this is to set out different bowls of goodies and let everyone mix up their own. Supply treat bags and you’re good to go!
Candy Corn Snack Mix Recipe
This recipe takes only a few basic ingredients but can easily be made into a fun “do it yourself” popcorn mix bar. To make the bar, start by using regular unbuttered popcorn. Tip: Don’t use buttered popcorn because it will make the mixture “greasy.” You can use regular popcorn or microwave popcorn if you are in a hurry. Place the popcorn in a large bowl with a scoop.
Set out bowls containing any of the following ingredients:
*Peanuts, Almonds or Cashews
*Candy Corn in any flavor or shape
*Chocolate Covered Pumpkins
*Jelly candy Pumpkins
*Gummy Worms, Gummy Spiders, Gummy Eyeballs or Gummy body parts
Give each guest a treat bag and allow them to make their own concoctions!
- 8 cups microwave popcorn, popped (don't use butter flavor)
- 1 bag (10 to 12 ounces) candy corn
- 1 container (16 ounces) jelly pumpkin candy
- Mix together the pumpkins, popcorn and candy corn until blended.
If you don’t want to make the DIY popcorn bar, you can mix up one of these quick and easy gluten free versions. Both the candy corn version and the gummy version have only 3 ingredients! If you prefer to use the gummy version, mix one bag of gummy spiders and one bag of gummy worms into eight cups of popcorn. I used the 4.5 ounces sized bag of gummy candies.
