Easy Non-Alcoholic Bloody Vampire Shots

Can you believe it is only a few weeks until Halloween? Every year we plan a huge celebration with friends. We have dinner, snacks, a roaring bonfire-whether it is chilly or not- and pass out candy to over 300 kids. Once upon a time, this was easy to plan. We had no food allergies to worry about. We had pizza, cupcakes and other goodies. Now we have to plan food that everyone can enjoy. That’s why these cute and easy non-alcoholic bloody vampire shots are a hit. They have only a few ingredients, look spooky, and have to be prepared in advance. I like anything that gives me more time to enjoy the party!

Easy Non-Alcoholic Bloody Vampire Shots Recipe

To make these you’ll need red gelatin-use any flavor you prefer; watermelon, cherry, raspberry or strawberry, and lemon-lime soda. Voila! That’s it. Two ingredients. Easy-peezy! This recipe also works with low calories gelatin and diet lemon-lime soda if you are counting calories. Mix the gelatin following the directions on the package except substitute lemon-lime soda for water.

Now comes the fun part! You can make these as spooky as you want them to be. I used Skeleton Hand Plastic Cups from Oriental Trading to hold the shots. I poured the gelatin mixture into the cups and allowed the gelatin mixture to become partially set. (IMPORTANT TIP: If you are adding anything into the glasses when the mixture is partially set only fill the glasses 3/4 of the way to the top.)

I added a gummy eyeball candy (purchased from the dollar store) to each glass and then topped each glass with a set of vampire teeth.  You can purchase vampire teeth from the dollar store or Oriental trading. If you prefer you can also top each glass with a small amount of canned whipped topping and a candy eyeball once the mixture has set.  Anyway you serve them you’re sure to get “bootiful” compliments.
