Easy Spiced Peach Jam Recipe

Peaches are one of Georgia’s main crops so you’ll find them at every farmer’s market and roadside stand. And, I think my mother-in-law has found every one of those markets and roadside stands this year. Every couple of days Bryan will arrive home from work carrying a plastic bag full of peaches. “Momma sent them,” he says, setting them on the table. I began using peaches in (almost) all my recipes. We’ve had peach chicken, peach cobbler, peach pie, and peach salad. I’ve fed both the two-year-olds peaches. I’ve chopped up peaches and kept them in bowls in the fridge for a quick snack. Finally, as family members began to resist peach recipes, I said, “I’m running out of ideas!” Then, I found this easy Spiced Peach Jam recipe in an old church cookbook. I’ve stocked up on jam to last the rest of the year.

Easy Spiced Peach Jam Recipe

This jam only calls for four ingredients and takes less than an hour to make. I spent most of the time peeling peaches.

Here’s what you’ll need to make it

12 peaches, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup sugar (optional)
1 can (12 ounces) frozen pineapple juice concentrate, thawed
1/2 to 1 teaspoon cinnamon, adjust for taste

Here’s how to make it

Step 1. Mix peaches with sugar, if using. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
Step 2. Stir in the pineapple juice concentrate.
Step 3: Place peach mixture into a medium saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil.
Step 4: Reduce heat to low. Allow peaches to cook, stirring often until mixture is thickened.
The batches I made took about 20 minutes to thicken.
Step 5: Remove the mixture from heat. Stir in cinnamon.
Step 6: Allow to cool and pour into 2 (8 ounces) mason jars or a 1-pint jar.
This will keep a week in the fridge. It can also be stored in plastic freezer containers and frozen for up to four months.

Cooking Tips

*Don’t have any frozen canned pineapple juice on hand? Substitute one can of frozen apple juice instead.
*This recipe is naturally gluten-free and dairy-free.
*I’m going to be honest, I use my Bellini Kitchen Master for most of the time I make sauces, jams, etc., because it eliminates the need to stir anything while it cooks. The downside is it is pricey. I recommend it IF you cook a lot. It’s made my life a lot easier. However, this can just as easily be made in a saucepan.
