I have friends who love to clean their house. They say ironing and washing dishes relaxes them. Not me. My motto is “Whatever makes my life easier.” Don’t get me wrong. I love a clean house and messes make me antsy. I spend time every day making sure the house is straightened. But that doesn’t mean I enjoy it. When I was offered an Ecovacs Deebot OZMO 610 robotic vacuum for review, of course, I jumped on the opportunity. With four cats, two 2-year-olds, and a whole mess of allergies, I have to keep our floors clean. The Ecovacs Deebot OZMO 610 has made the job easier. Ecovacs Deebot OZMO 610 Review
The Pros
*Features- The Deebot OZMO 610 is the only brand of Robotic vacuum that is able to clean and mop. It has a high-efficiency filter that helps reduce the airborne triggers associated with asthma and allergies. Each vacuum comes with a filter, a mop plate, a microfiber mopping cloth, and a remote control to make it easy to turn on and off from wherever you are in the home.
Other important features include Obstacle Detection (including soft bumpers in case it does touch the furniture), Stair Safety Technology, so it won’t go flying down the stairs, and different cleaning modes to handle all messes. There’s Auto mode for general everyday cleaning, Edge mode for cleaning edges, Spot cleaning for times when the kids have made a big mess in one spot, and a Max vacuum option for the stubborn dirt. The suction methods can also be changed between direct suction and the V-shaped main brush for heavier lifting and suction.
*Convenience-With the Ecovacs app, I can schedule cleaning times whenever I want from wherever I want, monitor the cleaning status, and see how much battery power is remaining.
*Size- The Deebot OZMO 610 is compact, with a width of 13.8 inches and a height of 3.1 inches, making it easy to store in a corner for charging without attracting attention. Weighing in at 6 pounds and 7 ounces, it’s also easy to carry if I want to take it to a specific room to vacuum.
*Long Run Time- Although the vacuum does need a four hour charge time when the battery is low, the Deebot OZMO 610 has the capacity to run for 110 minutes before being recharged. And, there’s no need to worry about it stalling somewhere in the house; it automatically self-docks when the battery is low.
The Cons
*Initial Cost– The Deebot OZMO 610 has a price point of $349.99, which is comparable to other robotic vacuums. This can seem daunting when a cheap upright vacuum can be purchased for around $40, but I’ve found you get what you pay for. This vacuum saves me time and does a good job cleaning all my floors, even corners and edges, another area I’m don’t cover often enough manually.
*Vacuum Tray Needs to be Emptied Frequently— Because of the small size of the vacuum, it has a small holding tray. When the tray gets too full, the vacuum will spill debris back onto the floor. When I use it to vacuum my entire home, I usually stop the Deebot Ozmo 610 once to empty the tray.
How Well Does It Work
I tested the vacuum on our hardwood floors, our rugs, and a tile bathroom floor. Not only did it clean under any raised furniture (something I don’t do often enough after seeing all the dust bunnies it picked up), it easily adapted between the different types of floors, thanks to the .6 inch lift, enabling it to move from hardwood onto rugs or carpet. It has surprisingly strong suction for such a small machine, picking up both small and larger objects. It even picked up a gummy bear, bits of a newspaper the cat had scattered, some dried herbs, a couple of small rocks, and some cat litter. After I ran the Ecovacs Deebot OZMO 610 the first time I went back over the floor with my sweeper to see how much cat hair was still lurking on the floor. I was surprised to discover my pad came away clean in all the rooms the Deebot OZMO 610 had vacuumed. Usually, I go through 3 cleaning pads while sweeping my house each day to get all the cat hair.
The auto setting made the vacuum simple to use; one push and it was on its way. It also beeps to tell me when it encounters problems-usually a cord I left lying on the floor by accident- and I’m able to go move the cord. The Ecovac app was easy to install, taking around five minutes. This allows me to schedule cleaning when I’m traveling or running errands, a huge plus as I don’t have to come home to dirty floors. If I’m home, I can connect the vacuum with Amazon Alexa and tell it to vacuum. I’ve got to admit, I love telling something to vacuum and have it obey me.
The noise level is which quieter than a regular vacuum and sounds, to me, more like white noise in the background. It doesn’t bother the cats or the kids. Best of all, it’s a huge time saver. Instead of spending 20 to 30 minutes a day vacuuming the rugs, sweeping the floors, and spot mopping any sticky spots left by toddlers, I let the Deebot do the work for me while I’m finishing other chores. Did I mention it sweeps under the beds? Yep, I love that feature. My only question is why I didn’t get one of the Ecovacs sooner. And, I just discovered they have Winbots for cleaning windows. Why did I not know about this before?

I must confess, this is the first time that I have heard of this brand. I think it is a good product and value for money. I just still have my own. I might consider this when I will replace my old one.

I like a clean and organize home but I am with you cleaning is not something I enjoy doing. I guess I have to do it because I need it, Is this similar to I-robot?
Yes, it is similar to the Roomba 890 (has the same features) but it also has a mop setting in addition to vacuuming.
I have been SO curious about those robot vacuums and I must say, this one looks super effective! I love the fact that it can act as a vacuum and a mop: definitely something I need with a toddler.
I think if I have one of these, my Jack Russell Terrier would go bananas if I turn it on. I would like to have one though for our hardwood floors.
These are fun gadgets. My dogs think they are a hoot. They chase them and bark at them. Since the path is random, the dogs think it is playing with them!
Sounds like an awesome vacuum! I love that it’s hands free and that you can just let it roam around the room until it’s done cleaning. I really don’t mind having to empty the tray frequently.
