Gift giving can be hard. We all have that relative or friend that has everything. When we have that problem, we go with a safe choice-food. Everybody’s got to eat, right? Our foodies holiday gift guide has something for everyone on your list. And don’t forget to pick up some for yourself too!
Foodies Holiday Gift Guide 2016
1. Hoff & Pepper’s Hoff Sauce Hot Sauce is a Southern tradition. Who doesn’t have a bottle in their cabinet? Hoff & Pepper has raised the standards on traditional hot sauce with their one of a kind sauce handmade in small batches. The brain child of Aaron Hoffman, who wanted to develop your everyday hot sauce™, this sauce is made to compliment almost every food! This award winning hot sauce (1st and 3rd place in the NYC Hot Sauce Expo and 3rd in the world), has a tangy flavor with a hot kick. It’s not extremely hot, but enough to give foods some heat and a flavor kick. Right now they also have a limited edition Smoken Ghost Sauce, with only 1000 bottles being produced. Bonus points that this is made in my area of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Find them on Facebook at @hoffandpepper.
2. Teabox My daughter has become quite the tea aficionado. She’s extremely picky about the types and taste of tea. She was extremely excited to try Teabox, which boasts ” the freshest teas” from regions around the world. They work directly with tea growers to hand-select tea leaves for their texture, color, scent, and purity, giving you a gourmet tea experience in every cup. What makes the difference in Teabox tea? Traditional teas can take 12 to 24 weeks from being picked until reaching consumers. Teabox cuts out the middle man and delivers tea that has been picked only a week earlier. They’ve also worked to reduce heat, light, moisture and oxygen in their products, four of the main “enemies” of tea.
Teabox is available in loose leaf packages and new teapacs, the first individually packaged tea bags sealed at the source using a natural Nitrogen flush that keeps the tea as fresh as the day it was picked. Teapacs are also available in quick pick bundles of three boxes and sampler boxes. Find Teabox on twitter at @TeaBoxint and Facebook at @teabox.tea.
3. Smirnoff Peppermint Twist Vodka Who doesn’t enjoy a decadent holiday drink or dessert? This limited edition Peppermint Twist Vodka is a great addition to both. I plan on making all sorts of recipes for Holiday parties and get togethers I am attending. Can you say Peppermint Twist Cheesecake and Chocolate Peppermint Twist Cake? (I plan to share the cheesecake recipe before Christmas so look for that!) If you prefer cocktails, the Peppermint Twist vodka can be made into a Peppermint Russian or added to hot chocolate for a tasty dessert drink. Find them on Facebook and Twitter at @Smirnoffus.
4. ShareCrate is a genius idea! Do you ever have those nights when you don’t know what to cook? Maybe you’re just too tired to cook? (Please say I am not the only one who feels this way!) Or maybe you want to send a meal to a friend or family member who is ill, has a new baby or is just too busy to cook? The ShareCrate contains three frozen meals that can be delivered right to their door. This is not a subscription meal service, so you don’t have to worry about cancelling once you’ve ordered. The meals can be stored in the freezer until ready to use. Bonus–most can be prepared in around 30 minutes!
We’ve tried three of the dinners, Creamy Chicken Florentine Tortellini, Sesame Glazed Meatballs and Honey Garlic Orange Chicken. My family has remarked on how much they enjoyed them. And I enjoyed not having to worry about what’s for dinner! ShareCrate can be ordered in a Medium Option, which feeds 2-3 people, or a Large Option, that feeds 5-6. Another great thing about ShareCrate: For every ShareCrate sent a meal is donated to a child in need. Find them on Facebook at @dreamdinnerssharecrate and Twitter at @DDShareCrate.
5. Doc Popcorn Cookies & Cream Flavor Who doesn’t love snacking? Doc Popcorn comes in a variety of flavors, from the classic flavors of better butter and cheesy cheddar to gourmet flavors like French Toast and Apple Crisp. We tried the new Cookies and Cream Flavor and it is addicting! The flavor balance of salty and sweet is perfect. Chunks of Chocolate Sandwich cookies mixed with salty popcorn= snackfest extravaganzas. All of the popcorn blends are free of trans fats, MSG, artificial colors and preservatives. Our popcorn arrived tightly sealed in a plastic container and a plastic bag to ensure maximum freshness. This would be a great gift to send to college students! Find them on Facebook and Twitter at @Docpopcorn.

What a wonderful idea to think of unique hot sauce as a gift to add flavor to foods. The tea box sounds ideal, too, as most of the people we know (including us) like both hot and iced tea. It will be fun to add all of these suggestions to make someone’s day special.
