Great Gifts For Mom and Baby

Doesn’t Mom deserve a little pampering this year? Hint, Hint, kids. For those of us still attempting to do our Christmas shopping, time is running out. I’ve found two great gifts, both which would be great for pregnant and new moms or Fashionistas. Remember, making life happy for Mom is always a good thing.

Aetrex Boots:  I’m not a fan of cold weather. If possible, I’d have perpetual summer.  I do look forward to one thing each winter; my annual purchase of a pair of boots. My boots get lots of wear and because I was born with a club foot, the way I walk can be hard on shoes.  I’ve found it’s better to purchase a pair of “good” shoes which promote foot health.  This year Aetrex Boots came to my rescue with their “healthy 3”:  Lynco® orthotic footbeds for support, balance and alignment, Memory foam cushioning for customization and comfort and Anti-microbial technology to keep your feet healthy and clean.  These Chelsea Riding Boots, available in five colors, black, brown, grey, cognac and charcoal, has discovered the perfect design of comfort, functionality and fashion.  The boots have a firm support system, holding my heel in place, along with a sweater design on the back of the boot to accommodate wider calves.  Designed with  the Aegis Microbe Shield, this provides protection against odor, staining and deterioration caused by bacteria, fungus and other microorganisms.  Another great feature is the water proof leather upper to keep feet warm and dry in ice, snow and rain.  I’m able to slid the boots on and off easily, thanks to the zipper extending halfway up the sides of the boot.  I’ve been pleased with the comfort, durability and style of my boots. Plus, they look good with jeans,  dress pants or long skirts.  All of their shoes include a 30 day healthy guarantee, plus free returns.  Aetrex has several styles of boots available. The Chelsea Riding Boots retail for $209.95.

Ollie Swaddle Blanket  With the upcoming birth of Jenna Marina, I suggested Brittany try a swaddle blanket. It’s one of the few things that helped calm my children after they were born. Unfortunately, I was not good at swaddling. Instead of being snug,  my swaddles kept unwrapping, especially when the kids moved around.  The Ollie Swaddle Blanket is designed to make swaddling easy for everyone.  First invented to help a foster child named Oliver with the help of his pediatric neuro-developmental psychologist, Dr. Kiti, this swaddle has a custom developed moisture wicking material to reduce overheating and an opening at the bottom to allow for diaper changes when the infant is swaddled or sleeping. The best part of the swaddle is the velcro, making it easy to create a snug and comfortable swaddle. Now even I can perfect a swaddle. And, let’s be honest, what new parent cant use a product designed to reduce fussiness, promote self -calming and improve quality and duration of sleep? The Ollie Swaddle, including a mesh laundry bag,   is available in pink and blue and retails for $59.00.

Homedics Shiatsu Neck &  Shoulder Massager with heat– I’ve had neck problems for several years thanks to degenerative disc disease.  Combine this with spending hours working on the computer and I have a stiff, sore neck.  Getting a massage every day was not a possibility until I discovered the Homedics Shiatsu Neck & Should Massager with heat.  Featuring two massage styles, a deep kneading  Shiatsu or a gentle vibration massage or a combination of both, I can choose the massage I need.  The Massager is large enough to cover my neck and shoulders to provide more relief and the comfort flex handles allow me to change the intensity to the level I desire.  The setting allow me to choose a massage style with or without heat for my personal preference that day.  Priced at $39.99,  I can have multiple massages day after day for the price of one massage at a spa.
