After an exciting day of sightseeing, I look forward to an evening of relaxing when I reach the hotel. If I get a little pampering in the process, that’s a-ok. When we reached the Hampton Inn and Suites in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, the first thing I noticed was the free coffee and tea bar provided for the guests around the clock. Did I mention homemade cookies were available as well? Conveniently located 4 miles from the Cherokee Trail of Tears park and six miles from the Breaker Aquatic Park, the hotel is close enough to be near the action, but far enough to be away from the noisy hustle and bustle. The clerk told me about the amenities, which included free wifi (Score!) and a free continental breakfast the next morning.
Located across from the check in desk was the combination lobby and breakfast area, featuring comfortable tables for breakfast and plenty of areas to spread out and work on the laptop while enjoying the free coffee or tea.
For people who preferred more privacy, the business center was available 24/7 and had a printer option too. Perfect for printing out directions to local area attractions.
One thing my kids ask as soon as we pull into the parking lot is, “Does this hotel have an indoor pool?” They are huge fans of taking a dip in the pool, but since inclement weather can mess with their plans, we look for indoor pools. I was happy to see not only does this hotel include an indoor pool, it has tables where I can use my laptop while the kids swim.
The bedrooms were cozy and inviting. When I saw a yellow sticky note on the bed, I had to drop everything to go see why it was there. It proclaimed that the beds had been changed and all the bedding was fresh. Not only were the beds comfortable, but the room included a work area with an ergonomic chair, plus a lap desk if I had preferred to work while relaxing in bed.
Did I mention the free breakfast? I was only able to get a small sampling of the food in this picture, but it was spread over four counter tops and included hot items like eggs and sausage, plus lighter fare for people like me who are not morning people.
What amenities do you look for when choosing a hotel?
I just love the Hampton Inn Suites. They are always so clean and comfortable. It’s one that I always recommend.
Love your review of the hotel. I always look for a hotel that is clean and comfortable. It’s my first requirement. Secondly, they must have WiFi and if they’ve got a gym, I’m sold. 🙂
When we travel, we try to stay at a Hampton Inn. We always love how clean, comfortable, and modern their hotels are.
The pool and the room/bed haha I like it comfy!
It has been ages since I went to a hotel. I enjoy going to them when my family visits from Canada Toronto to be exact they love trying out the local hotel’s in the area. Looks like you had a great time free breakfest and free wifi now were talking and that pool is just calling my name.
This looks like a really nice hotel. I’m all about the food, and totally appreciate a good free breakfast and round the clock coffee, tea and cookies.
We love Hampton Inn! I love that they have amenities at an affordable price.
We recently stayed at the one in Hershey PA and it pretty much looks the same. Loved it.
Looks like a decent hotel. Love the breakfast area!
This post makes me want to drive to Kentucky! I love hotels that have indoor pools, breakfast, and wifi! If I’m ever in that area, I’ll be staying here. 🙂
The amenities are really great there! The tea/coffee and cookies all they is perfect for a late snack. I love hotels that offer printer service for when you need to print boarding passes to fly!
As a HUGE tea drinker, I like when places offer a hot drink anytime of the day. Some of them even has herbal teas, which is all I drink.
I’ve stayed at a Hampton Inn before and it was really nice! They are definitely a great chain of hotels.
That looks so nice.I would stay someplace like that for sure and sounds affordable.
