I participated in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Healthgrades. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
“Mom, what do people do when they go to the doctor for a checkup?” my daughter asked me.
“I think it is just a physical and to see if you are well,” I replied.
“Wow,” my daughter replied, “wouldn’t it be nice just to have to see the doctor every couple of years for a checkup?”
Thanks to my daughter having not one, but two rare diseases, and my father having degenerative disc disease, we spend a lot of time at doctor and specialists’ offices, up to several times per week. I like to research the doctors and hospitals they have to use before we go so I will be prepared. We have had our share of doctors that I was not pleased with over the years. While I do get recommendations from friends and family, we use specialists that no one else we know has used before. I’ve been using the Healthgrades webpage, which is the leading online resource for information on physicians and hospitals, for several years to check out doctors and found it especially helpful. Now, the process has gotten even easier, thanks to the development of their new free Healthgrades app, compatible with iPhone and iTouch products.
With the new Healthgrades App I can:
- Get doctor recommendations from friends and trusted community groups, integrated with Healthgrades leading provider data
- Search for doctors based on insurance, patient feedback, location, gender, hospital affiliation and more
- Set appointment reminders, store physician information for each family member and personal notes (this one is especially important when you have to schedule several doctor appointments each week)
- Create your own physician network to share with friends and families
If you have never tried Healthgrades before, this is still a great resource. Have you checked out the new Healthgrades app?
I think it is great to be able to access an app to get healthcare advice from certified doctors. Sometimes, we just have a question to ask that can be answered right away to put our minds at ease. It’s nice that medical customer service has moved in this direction.
Thanks for sharing, I love Apps that are health related.. this sure sounds like a good one, soo need to check it out, especially since your process has gotten easier with the App.. sure hope it will help me, too.
I thik I used healthgrades with my old insurance, an app would make it easier. Does it come on android?
Amanda, no, not yet. I am hoping for an android version soon!
I heard about this app on TV. I understand the dr. issue. I have several auto immune issues, my middle son does as well and my youngest was born a premie and had lots of issues for several years. We are ALL too familiar with doctors. I’ll look into this app. thanks
This looks like an awesome tool. I will definitely reference back to this if I ever am needing to switch Doctors or go to a new specialist. Thank you for sharing.
What a great and helpful App! This is making things easier in finding the right doctors.
Wow. Sounds like a great app, especially for sickly kids like me.
This sounds like a fantastic app!! Where was this when I was searching for a new doctor a few months ago?? LOL.
Looks like a good app to use. We’ll be moving soon, so will have to keep it in mind as we’ll have to choose new providers
I’ve never had to try it and not sure if I will ever have to since I’m military. Everything gets taken care of for us but it’s great to know that there are choices out there for when I’m no longer in the service.
This does sound like a great resource and it is hard to find the right doctor to meet needs sometimes.
This sounds like a great App. I do a good bit of traveling and you never really know where to go if you need a doctor when you are out of town. This would give me good piece of mind when out of town. Thanks for sharing.
This sounds like something I would definitely get if I had an IPad, phone etc. It is so hard to find doctors these days who are good and actually take your insurance.
This is very interesting to me. We’ve recently moved to an area where I know no one for personal recommendations so this could be really helpful. Thanks for sharing.
This sounds perfect for us since we moved to the Dallas metro last year but haven’t found all of the doctors that we need yet.
I love healthgrades so much. It’s so helpful and helps a lot if you’re in a strange town and need a doctor.
I love apps like this that are useful and FREE! I think I need to make a list of apps to share with my readers. 🙂
Wow this sounds like an incredible must have app! Thanks so much for sharing, this is really going to be helpful! Love that you can search for relevant doctors, so cool!
