Southern Hospitality & Comfort: Hilton Garden Inn, Bowling Green

We had often driven through Bowling Green without stopping, but until recently, I had never realized all the attractions offered by the city! We spent a full day touring the sights and, after an evening of somehow managing to drench myself with water while kayaking, I was ready to settle down for the evening at the Hilton Garden Inn. We stay at Hilton hotels (or one of their subsidiaries) often and are never disappointed with the cleanliness, comfort and level of service.   This hotel proved to be no exception.  Conveniently located just off the main drag, we were near shops, restaurants and the interstate, but far enough away to hear a lot of noise.

There are several things that I look for when I stay at a hotel; two of them being free parking and free wi-fi.  I was thrilled to find the Hilton Garden Inn offered both.  When we arrived in our room the first thing I noticed was the “Choose Your Snooze” sign on our bed.  This feature offered a knob on the side of our bed allowing us to change the mattress firmness to our preference.  I laid on the bed for a minute, then moved the knob to a medium firm setting. I was ready to settle in for the night!

All the rooms include a microwave and mini fridge, one of my money saving secrets for traveling with kids.  It’s much easier to pop a bag of popcorn and have some drinks in the fridge for snacks than have to run out to the store!

I arrived late at the hotel and had to leave early so I didn’t get to explore, but I would have loved to check out the indoor pool, spa tub and possibly the fitness center.  The lobby looked so relaxing and seemed to beckon to me.  I had to stop and sit before I went to our room.

One extra perk offered by the Hilton Garden Inn that always thrills my husband is complimentary newspapers.  He was happy to read his paper while I flipped through the television stations and watched the Food Network.  This was the perfect place to spend a comfortable evening after our travels. It’s affordable too; with rooms starting at $89 a night.

  1. Those beds look awesome. I’m due for a nap right about now… ;D

  2. The choose your snooze sounds like a great feature for an affordable price. Sounds like it was a great place to be!

  3. I have yet to stay in a hotel with adjustable bed controls like that. Shame shame cause I have stayed at some pretty upscale places. LOL. It would sure make my life a whole lot easier if all hotels offered this because their beds always hurt my back and hips.

  4. You really can’t beat that price. Last weekend my family and I drive to Virginia, we were too tired to drive back and decided to stop at a Quality Inn and its cost us $120 for the night.

  5. Haven’t stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn yet but I would so love to! And at 89$ a night, you can’t go wrong!

  6. This looks like a beautiful and comfortable place to visit. This is exactly the type of establishment that I like to visit when I’m on vacation.

  9. I always enjoy staying at Hilton Hotels, I’ve got my Honors points that I like to use. This looks like a very nice place to stay.

  10. I love the Hilton Inns. I never took advantage of the free newspaper since I very rarely read the papers. The place is so well kept and clean and also very comfortable. If I’m ever this way I’ll be sure to pay this one a visit.
