One of my favorite things about the holidays is picking out the Christmas tree. After we’ve finished our Thanksgiving meal, we all put on our winter coats and load up in the truck to visit the local Christmas tree farm. The smell of a fresh fir tree in our living room makes up for the hassle of cutting the tree, loading the tree, and protecting the tree from adventurous cats once we’ve gotten it home. Tack on some cinnamon ornaments the kids have made, and the house smells like the holidays from Thanksgiving until December 26, when the tree gets turned into a bonfire. Nothing says the holidays to me like the scents of cinammon and evergreen trees.
When I have holiday guests, I like to buy shampoos and soaps that remind my guests of home. That’s why I was pleasantly surprised to see the Suave Naturals line at my local Walmart. They have great scents like “Mango Mandarin” and “Everlasting Sunshine,” so I can stock the guest bathroom without breaking the bank. I have used Suave for my family for years because it’s a good value and it works just as well as the more expensive brands. Want a quick idea on how to make those out of town guests feel at home and not be embarrassed to ask you if they have forgotten something? I make a small comfort basket to add to the guest bedroom. I include a razor, some basic toiletries, like shampoo, conditioner and bodywash, tissues, headache medicine and a small treat, like a package of chocolates.
Want to stock up before your holiday guests arrive?
What scents remind you of the holidays?
We have an artificial tree, and I light a Christmas tree candle 🙂 Just as good at our house! (I’m scared our cat will EAT a real tree). And I love Suave products!
Oh I would love that robe and the candles! I do love Suave, but I haven’t tried any of those new scents yet.
I love suave. I love the shea butter scent
We always keep shampoo and conditioner in our guest rooms so people visiting don’t have to worry about bringing their own. A cinnamon scent sounds wonderful.
Funny thing I hate Cinnamon on my food but I like the smell. It reminds me of the holidays so anything Cinnamon scented will work for me.
I love the scent of Christmas trees – we get a fake one, so I like that we can make it smell like a real tree!
Pine and cinnamon! No better combination for the holiday season if you ask me!
Oh, you’re making me a gift basket! 😉 All of those items look so relaxing. My favorite scent of the season is probably all the baked goodies. Fresh baking pumpkin-anything smells amazing.
I would love all of that in a welcome basket! We love Suave! My favorite scents are apple for the holidays.
I like the idea of taking a warm bath with the pretty body wash and then curl up with the bathrobe and a good book!
i love all of the berry scents at christmas
Hot cider, rain, and fir trees! I grew up in the northwest
I love pumpkin and cinnamon! I love autumn when I can start buying candles!
cinnamon is one of my favorite holiday scents!
I think pumpkin, spice and cinnamon make me think of the holidays. Oh, peppermint too — that’s my favorite!
Pumpkin for the fall and apple or peppermint for the winter.
Christmas tree smell is my fav holiday smell.
I’m Jewish so anything that smells like sugar cookies and not like pine!
I love the smell of pine and cinnamon especially around the holiday time. I think I need to get some of these scents for my house.
I love the smells of Christmas!
I think cinnamon is probably my favorite scent of the season.
love Suave products, we use them all the time in our home for me and the kids!
We love Suave and need to go check out some of these awesome scents!
These scents sound really wonderful. I have long relied on Suave to care for my personal needs. They are quality and a great price.
Oh, wow. We are such visual creatures. Right away, when I saw the picture of the trees I felt that warmth that comes with this holiday season. Makes me want to go set up the tree and start baking! (Saying a lot considering I spend more time video editing than baking, these days.) What a great representation of gift ideas, with your “Suave gift infographic” 🙂 -Deborah
Gosh, I have so many favorites. Spiced apple, cinnamon, pumpkin, pine, and clove. I really enjoy the fresh smell of suave. I use the green apple and everyone compliments me on the fresh scent.
I am the same way. I love the scents of evergreen and spice. I put up an artificial tree these days and really miss the scent of fresh cut.
I love baking scents like spice cake, or gingerbread. Anything that smells like that helps me get in the holiday spirit.
We also love decorating the tree every year and certain scents really do bring back the holiday memories!
I love holiday scents, especially cinnamon! I am so excited that holiday scents are back now.
Anything Cinnamon Apple scented and I’m happy. I also love Pine and Holly scents. And, the Suave Sweet Pea & Violet body wash is of favorite around here!
Cinnamon, pine, and clove remind me of the holidays!
Pumpkin and spiced apple!
I love the idea of including a nice bathrobe in the guest bathroom as well! However, in answer to your question – what smell reminds me of the holidays? I don’t care for cinnamon smells, but I love the smell of a crackling fire. Of course, you can’t really put that in a shampoo bottle. I guess the next best scent that I wouldn’t mind having in my hair would be a cookie scented shampoo.
I absolutely adore the mango mandarin scent! So excited to try out Suave’s version!
I really like Suave products, especially their deodorant. A gift basket like that, with the candle – that would be awesome!
Great list of products for guests. We always try to have extras available for our guests so they feel comfortable and at home, too. My favorite holiday scents are pumpkin and peppermint!
I love the holidays! My favorite scents are cinnamon, pine and peppermint at this time of the year.
I can’t wait to try the Sweet Pea and Violet Suave body wash, that sounds really nice!
I will have to pay a visit to Walmart to check out some of these products you mentioned. I love the smell of cinnamon and also the rain 🙂
We got a fake tree when my youngest was a baby because he was eating the needles, but my FAVORITE smell is Christmas trees. I bought this outlet scent thing to put behind our fake tree so I still have that smell!
Pine. Growing up, my parents always had an artificial Christmas tree because most of us were allergic to pine trees, but now that I have my own home and family, I insist on a real tree – despite my constant sneezing for the entire time we have it.
I love the look and smell of a live tree. May have to try to talk hubby into one again this year. And that is a great idea to put out a basket of essentials for guests when they come to visit.
I didn’t know they had body wash so will definitely keep my eyes open for them for gift baskets.
I so can’t wait to go cut down our tree. The kids get to choose which tree they want, and then we chop it down. such fun. Love the holiday season.
I too love the smell of cinnamon. I walked into Michael’s the other day and almost couldn’t move past the front door because the smell of cinnamon was so awesome there. My two favorite times of the year are Christmas and New Year’s. We haven’t cut down a tree for Christmas in many a year. My daughter and I had some pretty extreme allergies to the live trees when she was little, so we went to an artificial tree. Sometimes, though, I think I would like to try it again. I do love the smell of the tree and all of the holiday scents. Thanks for sharing.
they have some YUMMY scents- and such fab pricing! we are heading to walmart in a few for some craft supplies we’ll have to swing by and check out suave
I love cinnamon and peppermint for the holidays.
I love pine and cinnamon but nothing beats the smell of baking Christmas cookies!
I usually buy suave products for the boys. They waste products so this is what they get. I usually get mine at Target. It’s really affordable as well. My son says it’s pronounced “sua-vay”. He’s too funny!
Pine and cinnamon are my holiday go-to’s. The beau doesn’t like cinnamon, one day maybe he’ll be converted!
I too love picking out our Christmas tree every year with my family! It’s amazing how a scent can evoke such strong memories…I love the smell of pine, and Cinnamon during the month of December.
