I was once an avid fitness buff. I took karate three times a week, hiked, powered walked at least five times a week, and ate healthy. As time has passed and my life grew more hectic, I have quit doing all these things. I knew I needed to start reviving my healthy habits so when I was offered a chance to try the Exaltria challenge where I have to document my process on my facebook page once a week (gulp!), I decided this would help hold me accountable. The 30 day challenge would help give me time to make better health a habit again.
Did you know when you turn 25 your body can stop producing molecular acid, which slows down or even stops your skin’s ability to restore elasticity? Yeah, thanks, aging process. Exaltria, a supplement designed to help me have more youthful looking skin is going to change that. I’ll be taking the supplement once daily along with four more healthy steps. I got to chose my own so here it goes:
1. Drink two (16 ounce) bottles of water daily. This may not sound like a lot, but considering my diet soda habit, it really is.
2. Eat more fiber filled foods. Not only will this help cut down on my sweet cravings, it will keep me full longer. I think eating properly will help my skin too.
3. Exercise at least three times a week. This gives me an excuse to pull out my Just Dance game.
4. Apply sunscreen every day. I have sunscreen built into my moisturizer, but I need to apply a higher SPF.
I’m ready to face the challenge! I’ll be posting the end results on October 15th. What tips to you have (or use) for healthier looking skin?
Wow! Can’t wait to see it! I am definitely starting the challenge too! Have my water ready, and my Exaltria of course!
I find that joining challenges is one of the best ways that I can get motivated. Good luck to you! I totally understand the water thing! I just quit drinking pop back in June.
I had no idea that happens at 25. Learn something new everyday! Can’t wait to follow your journey!
I have been trying to take better care of my skin. Drinking lots of water definitely helps me.
I did not know that about our skin after the age of 25. I can’t wait to see your results.
I was just talking to my husband about getting a Just Dance game (we need the console first though). I need to cut down on sweets and drink more water too. Can’t wait to see how your challenge goes!
I recently turned 47 and am looking for a new skincare regiment. I want to help diminish the lines.
Oh! Neat! I can’t wait to see how it goes! Will check back for your after photos.
Sounds like a great challenge, I can’t wait to see your after pics! 🙂
What a great challenge… I love your skin care tips and I had no idea that your skin starts or could start to age at age 25 ,..WOW.. i need to follow your challenge and see how it works for you and grab a few tips to stay young myself… I hear drinking LOTS of water suppose to help… good luck, can’t wait to see your update…
My biggest skin care tip is using a body bar instead of soap. I know it’s a commercial cliche, but soap really does dry your skin out. Body bars are better because they tons of moisturizers in them.
My biggest tips is SPF! All the water and healthy eating in the world isn’t going to help if you continuously fry your skin.
I don’t have any tips at all. =/ That’s bad, because that means I’m not taking care of my skin. I just don’t think about it.
Good for you! I should join you in the challenge. I try drinking plenty of water and get plenty of rest to keep my skin healthy and glowing.
Gosh, I just recently became more aware of my facial skin. I am noticing puffy under eyes, and dryer than normal skin. I hate aging…ahhh.
I’m always waging war on my skin! I’ve tried everything, and now I’m willing to try anything.
Woo hoo! Sounds like a step in the right direction. I can’t wait to hear how it goes.
These are great reminders to take care of our skin. Thanks!
The best tip I have is to drink lots of water and you have that one covered. I can’t wait to see your results!
Great challenge! My best tip has always been to drink water and stay hydrated, also don’t use makeup that’s going to clog your pores.
Such a great challenge. I need to do something stat b/c I’ve been randomly breaking out 🙁
I can’t wait to hear how you do. I think drinking lots of water definitely helps our skin!
Sounds like a great challenge, excited to see how you do over the month! I know I should venture out and do this too!
