Colds, Flu, Sinus Infections, Ear Infections, Chicken Pox, you name it, if I was exposed to it as a kid, you could be sure I would be sick within a few days. I was at the doctor so much my mother once asked, only half-jokingly, if she could purchase a gallon of antibiotics to have on hand. My kids regularly thank me in a sarcastic tone for passing this ability on to them. This month we were asked to take the 30 Day PURELL® Challenge. The Challenge couldn’t have been at a better time! I had one child going away to college during the month of August and I was going to be traveling for 23 days. I picked up PURELL® and and placed them everywhere; in my purse, in my car, in my travel bag, in as many of the moving boxes of college supplies I could find.
Let’s face it, college dorms are a hot bed of germs. There’s plenty of places germs can hide; door handles, communal bathrooms in the dorm, dorm rooms that don’t get cleaned as often as a mom would clean, to name a few. I left the PURELL® with instructions to wipe down everything and to keep PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer with him at all times. I informed him I could stop by Target and ship him some more if he needed it.
I used my PURELL® all the time while I was traveling. We’re leaving a store where I had touched something? Hand Sanitizer. Time to eat? Hand Sanitizer. Just got off a plane where someone coughed and sneezed on me the entire flight? LOTS of Hand Sanitizer and Hand Sanitzing Wipes.
On our last family trip at the end of August, I generously shared my supply of hand sanitizer with everyone. I’m happy to report I did not get sick the entire month, although at times I thought people on the airplanes were trying their best to make sure they shared their germs.
What are your best tips to avoid colds, flu and other illnesses?
Being sick is no fun! We always carry around Purell to help get rid of germs when we’re on the go.
Yes yes yes gotta keep that sanitizer on hand!! I make sure to keep some in my kids’ backpacks — even my college student!
I generously share the hand sanitizer too. Def. better safe than sorry.
Can’t get enough Purell in our house! This is important to read and share with others.
We have to send kiddo off to school with bottles of hand sanitizer. The large bottles are for the classrooms and they share them. We have a small one in her backpack so its always with her.
I am getting ready for a trip, and I make sure I have Purell packed. Very handy to have with me.
It should be illegal how small they are! My first dorm room was so small our beds were less than two feet apart from one another!
We once had this never ending bought of pink eye. I became a sanitizer junkie! Purell makes great products.
Aren’t plane rides the worst? That re-circulated is killer if even one person has a cold or flu, you can assure the whole plane will too. That is the thing I hate about traveling, other than that, I love everything else! I never stayed at a dorm but I can imagine they are a hotbed/cesspool of germs and bacteria! LOL
We use lots of hand sanitizer. We also make sure we, and our kids eat healthy and good. Seems to always work and my kids are rarely sick!
I keep Purell in the house, cars and in my purse. I take vitamin C and wash my hands a lot especially if I am out and about.
Purell is a must have. So important for the kids to have their own bottle in their lockers. Schools are super germy!
I love Purell. We keep it at our dental office for both patients and employees.
My stepson went off to college last week and we send some Purell with him, too. The last thing he needs is to be getting sick.
I love Purell hand sanitizer however I did not know they made wipes too! Exciting, I will have to buy some!
