Make A Christmas Gift Basket DIY

One of my favorite parts of the holidays is surprising people with fun gifts. There are so many people in my life I appreciate and never get a chance to tell them how much they mean to my family. We try to play “Ding Dong Ditch” around Christmas. Instead of ringing the doorbell and running, because I would not be fast enough to get away, we wait until friends are not home, then leave an anonymous package on the porch.  This year, now that my son is a senior, I wanted to thank one of his teachers who has gone above and beyond to help him over the years.  He was diagnosed with dsygraphia several years ago and has challenges in his school life.  This teacher, who is also a trained psychologist dealing with these types of cases, helped us develop a learning plan for his high school career,  spent a year working with us on treatment, and has continued to give us suggestions and work with us each year.  Knowing how much she loves to bake, I decided to make a Christmas gift basket for her, using products from World Market.

Here’s my idea for an easy  Christmas Gift Basket DIY. This basket was so easy to make. I started with a ceramic bowl, added a coffee cup, then filled it with products for her to treat herself; coffee, tea, hot cocoa mixes, scones mix, chocolates, cookies and hot cocoa stirrers. I added some shredded paper to the bottom of the bowl and into the cup, arranged the products into the bowl, and boom,  an instant treat set.  I’ve included the products below if you want to make it yourself.

  15. I love putting together gift baskets. A few years ago hubs and I decided we were going to stop buying our parents (there are 4 of them) all these gifts. He has a mom, dad and step mom. I only have a mom. And trying to buy nice gifts for all 4 of them started to be a bank breaking nightmare. So, we got kiddo involved and started making food items and crafts like mugs that they would actually use and enjoy instead of a bunch of stuff that was going to get packed away eventually.
