How to Make A Hoppy Easter Picture ideas with Peeps

Hoppy Easter
How to make a cute Easter or Spring picture using Peeps

This has been a long and hard winter with record breaking cold keeping us locked indoors.  When Spring finally arrived, I was ready to be “out with the old” winter stuff and in with the new. I wanted to do something to freshen up the house for spring, but I didn’t want it to cost a lot of money.  I had a supply of Peeps in different colors and decided why not use them in my decorating instead of eating them? This served a twofold purpose; it helped my waste line by not eating the Peeps and gave visitors entering my foyer a fun conversational piece.  Almost everyone has agreed it is a conversation starter, with the exception of my son.  He asked me, “Who stuck this stupid picture on the wall with Peeps on it? I bet it is going to attract ants.”  All I have to say is  someone has no spring spirit.  For the rest of us who have spring spirit, the picture is easy to make and uses items found around the house or at the thrift store.

Easter Picture ideas
Here’s what I used:
1 picture frame with mat (found it at the Thrift store for $1.99)
paint (found in craft section at Walmart 50 cents)
2 (4 packs) of Peeps in different colors
Glue
2 sheets of copier paper
scissors

Use a small paintbrush to paint the frame a spring color of your choice.  Allow to dry.  I began  to make the picture by taking the green mat out of the frame and turning it over so the white section faced the front.  Next I placed a piece of white copier paper behind the matting.  I arranged the Peeps onto the copier paper the way I wanted them and glued them into place.   Let the paper lie flat until the Peeps have dried. I lifted them up and wound up smooshing one Peep to get it to stay in place. Refasten the back of the picture.
On the computer make two small banners to fit the frame that say Hoppy Easter or Hoppy Spring. I used PicMonkey (they have a free version!) to make my banners. Cut the banners out and place on the picture where you would like to them to go.  Allow the picture to dry and hang on the wall.  I think an arrangement of Peeps in 5″by 7″ frames would be nice too.
