Have you ever wondered how evil villains in Disney movies were created? Were they once sweet, unassuming people who had a traumatic life experience, transforming their entire personality? That’s the premise behind Maleficent, the witch who cast a spell on Sleeping Beauty. Once a pure of heart creature who roamed the forest, her life is turned upside down by an invading army attempting to conquer the land. After suffering betrayal, her heart turns to stone, and she curses the daughter of the invading king’s successor. Ultimately she realizes the Princess Aurora might hold the key to the future of the kingdom.
Maleficent was one of the kids’ favorite movies this year. They were so excited when they learned Maleficent would be arriving on DVD and Bluray November 4th and we would be receiving a copy. We planned a family movie night and needed a fun dessert to savor during the movie. One of my friends made these cute cookies for Halloween. I was inspired to make a batch for our movie night and named them Maleficent cookies. These cookies contain only three ingredients and come together in minutes. They’re so simple even preschooler can help make them. I’ve included the recipe below. Simply turn the cookies fudge side up, place a small amount of frosting in the center of each cookie, and add a kiss shaped candy on the top of the frosting.
- Fudge Covered Cookies
- Tube of designer frosting gel
- candy kisses
- Place fudge covered cookies with fudge facing upwards. Place a small amount of frosting gel onto the center of each cookie. Top with a candy kiss.
Want to host a Maleficent party or movie night of your own?
Have you seen Maleficent? Do you have any favorite Disney party ideas?
