I am a fan of desserts, but especially desserts featuring chocolate hazelnut spread. I always keep a jar on hand in case a major chocolate craving strikes and I need a creamy spoonful. I’m not the only person in my family who feels this way, because the kids sometimes help themselves to spoonfuls too. It’s not unusual to come into the kitchen thinking how much I will enjoy my spoon of this spread and discovering the jar is empty, except for a few drops clinging to the sides. Apparently we are not the only family with chocolate hazelnut cravings. I discovered there is a World Nutella Day each year. How did I miss this all these years? With Valentine’s Day approaching, I decided to treat the kids to a special dessert; Mini Nutella Pie! Knowing how much I enjoy easy recipes, you won’t be surprised to learn these are no bake, take only three ingredients and came together in ten minutes. You’ll thank me once you taste them!
I used frozen whipped topping, Nutella and premade mini graham cracker pie crusts, but these will take a few minutes more to make a gluten free option. (Or if you are like my daughter and prefer no crust, I just gave her the Nutella mixture in a dish.) To make the gluten free option with a crust, you’ll need gluten free graham crackers, a little sugar or sugar substitute and butter. You’ll also need mini serving bowls.
- 1 carton (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 cup (8 ounces) Nutella or Hazelnut spread of your choice
- 6 mini graham cracker shells
- Gluten Free Option:
- 1 1/2 cups crushed gluten free graham crackers
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Mix thawed whipped topping with Nutella. Pour 1/2 cup into each graham cracker crust.
- To make gluten free option: Mix graham crackers, sugar and melted butter together. Spoon onto bottom and up the sides of mini serving bowls. Fill each bowl with Nutella mixture.
- Store leftovers in the fridge.
Do you have a favorite easy dessert?
