There are hundreds, if not thousands, of subscription boxes on the market these days. It seems like there’s one for everyone. Between the clothes boxes, the food boxes, and the rest, it can be hard to find a subscription box that really stands out. Meet CAUSEBOX, the new quarterly subscription box from Sevenly. Sevenly has long been one of my favorite companies due to their philanthropic efforts. When they contacted Simply Southern Mom about the CAUSEBOX, how could we say no? The slogan of CAUSEBOX is “This Box Matters,” and once you open it, you’ll see why!
CAUSEBOX features seasonally selected products for women that are socially conscious. Since “socially conscious” can be a buzzword, let me tell you about what it means for Sevenly: products that help empower people, are made ethically, give back to underprivileged communities, and help provide people with sustainable income in underdeveloped areas around the globe. Retailing for $49.95 a quarter, the CAUSEBOX promises you $150 retail value of unique products. Since 7% of the proceeds is donated, that really makes a difference! Even cooler, you can either let Sevenly choose the charity the proceeds go towards, or you can pick from an extensive list of charities.
So, a subscription box that helps other people? What could be better? What could be better is a subscription box that helps people? Well, what about a subscription box that helps people AND has some pretty cool products that you’ll actually want?
This quarter’s CAUSEBOX included:
A Tribe Alive Bracelet, exclusive to Sevenly. This bracelet was handmade in Honduras by women who are guaranteed Fair Trade working conditions, and each piece of jewelry sold helps contribute to job creation and community development in Honduras and other developing countries. It’s a fun bracelet that will fit into almost any wardrobe!
A Denik “Be the Change” journal. This was possibly my favorite part of the whole box. I’ve been obsessed with note pads and journals since elementary school, so a good journal is one of my favorite things. Other than having a beautiful cover featuring one of my favorite quotes, this journal is awesomely sturdy. Plus, notebooks and journals from Denik help build schools around the globe. That means, hopefully, some kid somewhere is discovering that they love writing as much as I do.
A Perf Turkish Towel. Made in Turkey, this beautiful blue and white striped towel donates 15% of its proceeds to fund meals for children in Haiti. Plus, it’s fast-drying and super absorbent, so it’ll be accompanying me on all my trips this summer! (Including one to Haiti.)
A Sample Size Good Spread Peanut Butter and Honey Packet. I love peanut butter. Like, love it. My whole family does. So when I saw that we could help feed malnourished children just by using a different brand? Switching to Good Spread in the future was a no brainer. Especially once I actually tried the sample I received. Delicious!
A “Good Day” Window Cling from Sevenly. This cling, proclaiming “Today is a Good Day,” is going up on my bathroom mirror ASAP. It’s a good way to remind yourself to start each day off positively. Plus, the fonts they chose are cute.
Smarty Pants Vitamins Travel Packets. For every bottle of vitamins that Smarty Pants sells, they partner with Vitamin Angels to make sure that kids in need get vitamins too. These gummy vitamins don’t have any of that weird medicinal taste, so your kids (or yourself) will love taking them. Plus you’ll love knowing that you’re helping kids in need!
A HALF UNITED“Fighting Hunger” Necklace. This is a controversial product, but besides the journal, it’s probably my favorite. Each necklace uses three hand-polished recycled bullet casings to really make a stand about “Fighting” hunger. HALF UNITED thinks that fashion can change the world, and they use half of their profits to global hunger relief efforts! These necklaces are American-made in downtown Los Angeles, so you can be sure that you’re not dealing with child labor or sweatshops like many corporations!
With the first CAUSEBOX, Sevenly was able to donate $3,500 to the Jessie Rees Foundation, a foundation that helps provide hope and joy for kids fighting cancer. Not only that, but the Sevenly team was able to take time to partner with the foundation and spend time with those brave children!
If you’ve been looking for a subscription box that’s unique and ethical, check out the CAUSEBOX.
I love companies that allow you to do double duty. That necklace rocks.
I love the idea of helping others when you make a purchase! I also really like that bracelet. I think this would make the perfect gift!
This would make a wonderful gift idea for a teacher, end of year and all 🙂 Thanks
This is a neat box. I love the Tribe Alive bracelet!
What a great box. It’s so pretty and everything in it is nice and useful. Plus, it gives back. Can’t ask for more than that from a subscription box. This one would make a great gift.
I’m totally liking the new trend for adult vitamins to go to gummy form. That’s an option I really like.
My daughter loves these kind of boxes. I don’t think she’s heard of this one before but I’ll have to tell her about it.
