Goo Goo Clusters have been a favorite of mine since I first discovered them while touring a candy factory in Eastman, Georgia. I only had them once a year when we drove by the candy factory on the way to our annual beach vacation. We all looked forward to our annual stop to purchase a freshly made Goo Goo Cluster. Then, the factory closed. We were out of luck until I discovered a recipe to make them at home. But, I didn’t just stop there. I upped the ante by adding creamy peanut butter to the recipe. Whenever I make a batch of these peanut butter Goo Goo clusters to share, I always come home with an empty plate.
Peanut Butter Goo Goo Clusters Recipe
Not only do these Goo Goo Clusters melt in your mouth, but they’re also naturally gluten-free. Add in the fact that they are no-bake and have only seven ingredients, and you’ve got a recipe that sure to be a winner for both you and your guests. Whenever I make these, I have them ready to be given away because, like Lay’s potato chips, it’s hard to eat just one.
Printable Recipe
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup peanut butter chips
- 1 (14.5 ounces) can of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 cups roasted peanut halves
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, stir together the chocolate chips, the peanut butter chips and sweetened condensed milk until the chips are melted. Bring the mixture to a boil and allow it to boil for two minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove the pan from heat and stir in the vanilla and peanut butter until blended.
- Add the roasted peanut halves and the mini marshmallows. Stir until blended.
- Place a piece of waxed paper or parchment paper in a 9″ by 9″ baking dish. Spread the chocolate mixture evenly over the bowl.
- Cover the baking dish and place it in the refrigerator for two hours or until the mixture is solid.
- Remove the paper from the baking dish and cut the candy into one-inch slices.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Cooking Tips
*Change the recipe by using different types of chips. You can use semi-sweet chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate instead of milk chocolate chips with the peanut butter chips. Or replace the peanut butter chips with butterscotch chips and use this with any of the chocolate varieties.
*If you don’t have mini marshmallows, you can cut large marshmallows into fourths and add them instead. I’ve even made this by standing large marshmallows in the baking dish and pouring the chocolate mixture over them.
*Don’t have peanut butter chips? Substitute an additional 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips.
