Want to make candy but think it is too complicated? What if I said you could make this easy peppermint bark recipe with only two ingredients? And I promised the recipe wouldn’t take over 10 minutes of prep time? This recipe is so simple almost anyone can make it, but tastes so good. It’s a great addition to candy baskets, is fun for the kids to help make, and is naturally gluten free. You can make this taste like the expensive gourmet treats by using a good quality white chocolate chips. (Think of something like Godiva white chocolate chips.)
How to Make Easy Peppermint Bark:
Ingredients
1 package white candy coating (or use 2 cups premium quality white chocolate chips)
12 candy canes, crushed
Directions
Step 1: Unwrap candy canes and crush into small pieces. You can use a food processor or blender. If you don’t have either of these appliances, place the candy in a plastic freezer bag and crush them with a wooden spoon. This is one of my kid’s favorite parts of making the recipe!
Step 2: Melt the white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove for microwave and stir. If chips/coating is not completely melted, return to the microwave for another minute to 1 1/2 minutes. Stir until smooth.
Step 3: Mix in crushed candy canes until well blended.
Step 4: Spread evenly onto waxed paper. Place waxed paper on baking sheets, if desired. Chill in the refrigerator or freezer 8-10 minutes or until firm.
Step 5: Break candy into small pieces and store in airtight containers.
