First birthdays are special occasions. We wanted the party to reflect something the baby enjoyed, so we chose “Princess Sofia” her favorite show. The party day weather was predicted to be sunny with a high of 86 degrees. Naturally, the day dawned cool, windy and full of rain clouds. Since we planned the party outdoors we spent time carrying decor inside and out between the rain showers. My advice? Always have an alternate indoor area to have the party. We were still able to use these cute Princess Sofia Birthday Party Ideas which can be adapted to indoor or outdoor parties.
Princess Sofia Birthday Party Ideas
We welcomed everyone into our kingdom with a cute Princess Birthday banner we attached to the arbor. Because we had the party at 1 PM, we set up a table with a “Build Your Own Sandwich Bar” and a “Princess Treats” Table. Princess Sofia tablecloths gave the tables a whimsical touch. I added these cute centerpieces made from a Round Clear PVC Sided Tin Cans (4 ” by 5″ size), purple tissue paper, round floral foam and large flower shaped swirl lollipops.
For other tables I made centerpieces using the same clear sided can, floral foam and tissue paper but added pearl studded pink linen ribbons and pink swirl lollipops. Guests were encouraged to take a lollipop with them as they left.
A Princess Sofia backdrop created the Castle backdrop for our dessert bar. It would also be a great backdrop for photos.
Because the baby has to eat foods that are gluten, dairy, oat and soy free, (thanks, food allergies), we made special cupcakes and a mini cake for her, my daughter and other guests with food allergies. We made the cupcakes special with Sofia cupcake liners and picks and added a Princess Sophia Birthday candle to the cake. We served the cupcakes on a silver tray as befitting a little princess. I added Princess Sofia stickers to purple cups to give them the royal treatment.
I added a Princess Banner to the door, banners over the drink station and a portrait of Princess Sofia to add to the atmosphere.
If you want even more fun, try a small bubble machine. The kids will have a great time trying to catch the Princess bubbles! Everyone had a great time at the party, including the birthday girl. We’re already planning a theme for next year!
Our backdrops, props and several of the items for our party favors and decor were from Oriental Trading, which has a great selection of Princess Sofia The First Party supplies. What are your favorite party themes and ideas?

It’s nice that there’s only one company that handled the party favors and decor so you wouldn’t have to talk and deal with multiple suppliers for the planning and setup. The theme looks so nice and fit for a cute girl.
