How To Make Princess Sofia Bubbles Favors

Can you believe how time flies? The baby will be three years old in a few weeks and we wanted to celebrate. Themes were chosen and discarded.  One of the fun ideas we came up with was a Sofia the First Birthday Party. It’s one of Critter’s favorite television show and we’ve seen it often enough that I can quote the “We can do Princess things” lines. Planning a Sofia The First party wasn’t hard. Ombre birthday cake? Check. Cute decor? Check. Now, all we needed were party favors. Since we plan to host the party on the patio, I wanted something fun the kids could do outside. These Sofia the first Bubbles Favors were the perfect solution. They’re fun for the kids and look elegant enough for little princesses.

How to Make Sofia The First Bubbles Favors

I’m all about shortcuts and saving myself time so I didn’t make the bubble mixture from scratch. Instead, I purchased a 32-ounce container at the Dollar Store for $1. This cost less than running around town trying to find glycerin and spending time mixing the bubbles. I also purchased a package of small bubble wands.

To make  Sofia The First bubbles I used 6 small glass jars (5 ounces sized), Purple pearl Trim Linen Ribbon, and white satin roses. I also needed purple spray paint, glue and a few drops of purple food coloring.  You could also substitute small plastic jars if you are afraid the jars will be dropped and broken.

I began by painting the tops of the jars purple (I used “French Lilac”) and allowing them to dry. While the lids were drying, I cut a small piece of ribbon to fit around the jars and glued it into place. Super glue works well for this since it dries quickly. Tip: Make sure the ribbon completely encircles the jar and overlaps slightly. Slip a bubble wand between the ribbon.

When the lids are completely dry, super glue a small satin rose to the top of the jar. Fill the jars with bubble solution and attach the lids. It’s the perfect princess favor! If you want to make the bubble mixture colorful, add a few drops of purple food coloring to the mixture and stir until blended before adding the mixture to the jars. You can also substitute small pieces of purple bubble gum to make “ Sofia The First Gems Party Favors.”
