Quick Gluten Free Apple Crisp Recipe

Have you ever craved something sweet but didn’t have the time or energy to make a long, complicated recipe? Or, my personal favorite. the dreaded last minute, “Mom, I forgot. I need something for a bake sale tomorrow.” At times like this I turn to this recipe my aunt used to make when I was a child. I made an Apple Crisp, which is perfect for fall, with an adaption to make it Gluten Free. This recipe is easily adapted to any season. Sometimes I substitute a can of peaches, or a can of berries. Best of all, it only takes four ingredients. If you really want to make it over the top, add a scoop of ice cream and a drizzle of caramel.
Gluten Free Apple Crisp

All you need to make this is a can of apple pie filling, cinnamon, a box of gluten free cake mix and butter.
Just place the apple pie filling in a 9″ by 9″ greased pan. Mix the butter, cake mix and cinnamon until it is crumbly.  Top the pie filling with  the crumbly mixture and bake for 25 minutes. That’s it!  Once it is done, serve it warm with a scoop of ice cream. I have always gotten rave reviews on this one, even from the kids.  No one can tell it is gluten free unless I tell them!

  10. This looks like a really good recipe for our family. It seems almost everyone is serving someone with a gluten allergy these days. My son has perceptual motor difficulty, it’s a form of autism and he can’t have gluten either. Thanks for sharing your idea.
