Rio is an “only dog” except for his cat siblings (and he wants to know, “What’s up with that?”), so whenever he has an opportunity to play with his cousins on my in-law’s farm he is overjoyed. We got all the dogs together for a #HappyStartsHere party, thanks to Alpo, and all the dogs had a tail-wagging good time. Because the weather has been so weird in Georgia lately, when the temperature was a balmy 70 degrees, we decided to hold the party outside.
We kicked off our party by dressing up. All the dogs received an Alpo “Happy Starts Here” bandanna to wear, with varying success. Coco, the chihuahua, tried on the smallest bandanna we had and it looked like a cape. We dubbed her Coco, the super chihuahua. After dressing up, Bo, Missy, Rio and Coco settled down for some serious snacking. They were able to try several varieties of Alpo Chop House and give us their opinion on some thought bubbles. Let’s see what they have to say.
My name is Bo and I am a foodie. Naturally, I was happy to have a chance to share Alpo with my cousin. I wolfed down my bowl within seconds and looked for more. Alpo earned two paws up with me. Feel free to give me another can. Now.
My name is Coco and I am often unfairly accused of being grouchy. This is a lie, as I only growl and bark at everyone. However, I am pacified by this tasty can of Alpo. See how content I am? I give this two growls. Seriously, don’t touch my bowl.
My name is Missy and I am incredibly old and in poor health. I liked Alpo because it was easy on my teeth. If I felt like it, I would give it two loud barks.
After eating, all the dogs received Kong treats to play with and treat bags. Rio and his cousins had a great time romping and playing, while enjoying delicious goodies. Rio was happy to share with his cousins, but with his cat siblings? Not so much.

I used to have dogs and still adore them (mine are now over the rainbow bridge)-but am no longer allowed to have them in my apartment so now I have a cat who thinks she is a dog—-My dogs, back when did like Alpo!

I have five Treeing Walker Coonhounds, and anyone who has a hound knows that they will eat just about anything and love it. However, when I pick the cans for my dogs, I lean towards flavors like Filet Mignon and Ribeye.
No dogs over here, but I’ll bet my sister’s two big dogs would go nuts over it!

What a fun post and when our dogs were living they loved Alpo too. It was a great food to give them as they grew older and their teeth were not as tough as they use to be. They actually enjoyed eating again when we started buying this for them.
