Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland, Sevierville, Tennessee

There’s something about the magic of Christmas lights. It brings back memories of my childhood Christmas Eves when we drove around the neighborhood to see the lights. I continued the tradition with my children but it seems like light displays are harder to find these days. Many of the ones we used to visit no longer exist. That’s why I was thrilled to discover Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland.  It’s billed as “the most immersive Drive-through Christmas Experience on Earth” with good reason.  Shadrack’s is a massive light display that winds slowly past thousands of lights synced to music. No need to drive all over town looking for lights!

Although we received complimentary admission to Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland, all opinions are our own.

Upon entering the display we were given a radio frequency to tune into for music. We set the dial and immediately the car was filled with the sounds of the holidays. The drive begins near a huge Christmas tree surrounded by smaller lights. Semi-circles and poles flash in time with the music.  We all agreed The Hallelujah Chorus light show is a must see.  Other highlights of our drive included the tunnel of lights and the larger than life figures, like the Santa train which brought gasps of delight from the baby.

The drive through Shadrick’s took around 30 minutes as we wanted to take our time and enjoy the experience.  I don’t believe we heard the same song twice during our visit.  The musical compositions range from classics to songs with a more modern vibe so everyone will be able to find a tune they like.  After the drive, there’s still more family fun to enjoy. For anyone who has small children, a visit to Santa’s Workshop is a must. It’s free with admission to the light show, although photo packages with Santa are extra. There’s also a petting zoo and pony rides for an additional fee. Feeling hungry? Grab some cocoa or kettle corn from one of the food vendors.

I was excited to learn that visiting Shadrack’s not only creates lasting Christmas memories with the family, it helps the community. Shadrack’s gives a portion of the proceeds to local charity partners.
