Convincing my children to keep our house clean can be difficult. While I am of the mindset, “Everything has its place,” my children are firm believers in the kick it under the bed where no one can see it theory. They often try to assure me their rooms are clean. “But it is Mom clean?” I ask. This elicits sighs and groans as they return to their room mumbling, “It is never Mom clean. Who needs stuff to be mom clean?”
Although my children still do not believe in “mom clean,” the task has been easier since I received the gift of clean from Scotch-Brite. We’ve all found some products we love. Plus, it has encouraged cleaning among the kids! Finding new cleaning tools and getting the kids to clean? Definitely a win-win.
Here’s a few of our favorites:
The Heavy Duty Scour Pad: I love summer because I can convince the men in my family to grill. They’re happy to fix burgers, ribs, chicken and steaks. They’re not so happy to clean the grill. I walked outside recently to hand over the meat, took one look at the grill, and turned off the eyes. The heavy duty scour pad had met its match! I’m happy to say we now have a clean grill and are back to having freshly prepared meats that I don’t have to cook.
The Clean Curve Dishwand: I am not sure how—probably the same way it happens to the grill- but if there is ever a pan with baked on foodstuffs, no one will remember to add some soapy water to the dish when they sit it in the sink. Instead, it will lie there, slowly hardening, until I discover it. This dishwand not only tackles the cooked on mess, it’s curved so my hand never has to touch the pot.
The Shower Scrubber—Cleaning the shower is my least favorite chore in the entire house. It seems like I am always tackling a thin layer of soap scum or sliding around when I least expect it. This shower scrubber makes it easy to reach above my head and scrub the bottom of the shower without having to get down on my hands and knees.
The Microfiber Dusting Cloth—Have you ever dusted an entire room and then looked around to find the dust has been floating around the room and cheerfully resettled onto all the surfaces? No amount of work from top to bottom philosophy can change it! This Microfiber cloth manages to trap dust so it doesn’t fly around the air.

i love dish wands. i hate sponges in the kitchen (i use them elsewhere and love them, but not in my kitchen!!) dish wands are SO convenient and ensure that soap is actually USED!

I have 2 cats and a dog and always have a bunch of lint rollers in the house! One of my favourite cleaning items as one of the cats always sleeps on the couch.

I love the shower scrubber. In my opinion, the shower is the most wretched part of the house to clean. That’s why I put it off for as long as possible. Also, I work at a vet, so I know that lint rollers can be invaluable!
